Thumbs down Reply to complete idiot

Thanks for that. We have just had our Christmas ruined and have had to cancel our holiday and start looking for work. Think yourself fortunate you can afford to even think about booking one. People like you are beneath contempt... do you have no compassion for the people who have just been told they have no jobs?

Very sorry to hear this.

Bad news for the industry and bad news for Scotland.
I worked for the company a couple of years ago in ABZ where they generally provided a great service over the summer.

My thoughts are with all affected employees.

Re : Alba; just to be clear about the PWC announcement, it's not just the airline, it's the whole shootin' match which has disappeared down the big toilet in Colinton - the airline, the holiday company, Alba, the lot.

Not sorry to see the end of them at all. Flew with them in my hols for the 1st & last time last year; a bunch of amateurs playing at trying to be the big boys. Clueless, amateur crew; dirty tired aircraft, late both ways and not even cheap either. Good riddance, the customer is always right (in the end).
Having first hand experience of this type of operation, I can say that to provide a service acceptable to the passenger is often in spite of the management. I certainly have no sympathy for TD KN and a few other top Guys. In fact I would go on to say "I told you so". The crew in your experience were probably a reflection upon how they were treated and looked upon by the most senior.

I once asked TD a straight question and got a piss taking facetious reply. Well Tom, its come around and bit you on the arse. Tough. The employees deserved better than you.

You complete tool, I have a friend with two young children that has just lost his job (the only source of income), has just has his Christmas ruined and god knows what else...we are talking people lives here, not some holiday you booked that the flight was late for.

People like you make me puke, you honestly do. My thoughts are with all concerned.

Sadly I cannot see any Phoenix arising from Globespan's ashes. The group's assets are probably close to zero and with the general state of the airline and holiday markets I doubt there's anyone out there will want what's left.

Ryanair and EasyJet will swiftly mop up any shortfall in sun-spot holidays capacity out of Glasgow and Edinburgh, with the exception maybe of Egypt which might be more interest to Jet2. Time will tell.

What I find really sad however is the attitude of the handful of vindictive little ignorant guttersnipes posting their venom against GSM. They should show a little concern for the guys and gals who did an honest day's work for the company and who are now out of a job, and for the passengers who have had their plans ruined. Shame on you.

Spinnaker, you my friend have hit the nail firmly on the head Dalrymple had some of the best professionals I have worked with in over 30 years in the business I had the misfortune to sit in the boardroom at least twice a day for many months belittling everyone and anyone there(including me) he would blame anyone but himself, I remember sitting in the boardroom during the CAA audit debrief shortly before they "volantarily" relinquished the ETOPS cert the chief auditor remarked that one of his findings was that TD never allowed his managers to manage he remarked that would change well it never did and I left the company some 7 months later mostly because he blamed Me, M Keep. G For and Joe Fos for the MEL incident LPL-JFK in fact none of knew about it until after the event, so I wonder who he is blaming now? bet its not himself, probably RGs fault as I always thought he would end up the fall guy, well Glen, Martin and Joe the end is finally here and even after they replaced us with the manchester mafia it still could not save them.
Its the hard working staff at Colinton I feel truely sorry for not TD his cronies or any of the Judas engineering from Manchester, hey guy's thats TX that let you go FGS gone who next, you lot got what was coming to you.

I have several good friends in GSM, one of which will get the nasty shock upon arrival tonight.

At leat GSM gave scottish travellers the chance which is more than can be said for my outfit. I fear now that the disgrace that is Ryanair will mop up, a real shame for Scotland and the employees of GSM.

Condoloncies to the coal face workers, who get the rawest deal, as usual.

sad news again

May i start by wishing all pilots and crew at Globespan my condolences, sad at any time but so close to Xmas.

I have no such thoughts for the management of GSM, they have acted like witless clowns and should have been brought to book much earlier.

Its also prompts a look at the broader issues affecting our industry, much of the ills of which can be laid (ironicly) at the door of this Scottish led Labour Goverment, so much for Scottish prudence RBS & HBOS!!

That will be another group of people that won't be paying any increase in NI or any tax for that matter, still think of the carbon reduction!! still the APD can pay for painting Brooons shed

Flying is fast becoming a sport for the rich or cattle class Ryanair style

Still the people let down by Globespan can't blame the English this time round

Why should people who are let down by the collapse of Flyglobespan blame English people. I don't think that this is the time to be pulling out the Scottish / English race card. I'm more concerned about people who have had their holidays ruined and employees who have lost their jobs. I am a very proud Scot but I couldn't care less whether they are Scottish, English, or any other nationality.

As someone who was due to fly to Gran Canaria from Glasgow on Monday, can I add my thoughts to the staff who have just lost their jobs. I flew with you a few times, and found the cabin and flight crews professional, friendly and efficient.

I'll probably get my money back via section 75 of the consumer credit act. I hope the GSM crews can find new jobs

Big big shame and so close to Christmas. I just hope the likes of U2 will take on some staff if they are to base more aircraft in EDI/ GLA to cope with the globespan PAX that have booked for 2010. It would be good for the PAX if they could base an A320 up there for the longer flights e.g. SSH.

A very sad day and good luck to all affected in the future.

Awfull thing for the people concerned, having been there twice i know but the fact is there is is far too
much capacity in the market, inevitable outcome is the weak go to the wall
thats whats happened sadly, lets hope this the last big operator to go belly up before the market picks up again
