I guess the ASA people live in London. For me, it's about 40 minutes to Stansted and probably a couple of hours to Waterloo, even if I took the train there. OK, so I'll spend up to 90 minutes in a security queue at Stansted, but the travel time to the airport is definitely less.
The train is quicker from Eurostar station to Eurostar station, which the ASA choose to emphasise.
Most people do not live anywhere near a Eurostar station, which the ASA choose to ignore.
Some very one-sided analysis.
You'll be stuffed then come October 2007, when Eurostar effectively abandon their station at Ashford and you have to drive all the way back to Gravesend to the new railway.

I have not travelled on Eurostar however from earlier posts it seems that security regulations are considerably less onerous on the train/station operator. Why is that, (well I know why it is, because our regulators react to past attacks/threats as oppose to trying to prevent new methods/targets).
