It would aso make sense to have G-PLAJ on site as a tech back up aircraft ,
any tech delay could prove embarrassing

Sun Iom Blk

Just tried to check JEX prices off the rock this SUN but I get "Flight doesn't exist" from the website even though the home page is advertising it. All the other operators are full or top dollar with the TT exodus so I was hoping for a decent price on JEX.

Only IOM-BLK flight available on Saturday and Sunday completely taken off the schedule.

Only 7 seats left!

P.S. Was last weekend's flights operated by Manx2 because as I landed at the airport on Sunday afternoon, PLAJ was parked on the General Aviation parking and CCPW on the end of the other runway? Then, at about 13.10 (10 minutes late), a Manx2 a/c landed (Metro). Was this the JXT flight?

JXT

I think JXT only did Sat last weekend like this coming weekend. They had Charter ops over the weekend so that could account for the parking?

I have just come from another thread it seems IOMSPOTTER you will be a busy person this coming weekend. On one flight you will be visiting Southampton from the IOW with Eastern to get as much Champoo down your neck as you can FOC on the way back but on THIS thread I am puzzled as you want a good price to get off the rock to Blackpool with this new airline.....I am "confused" are you Schizophrenic or how else can you be in two places at once ?

Pardon me for being a bit thick but if the flight is coming back from the IOM with passengers on it how does it get there in the first place ??

well travelled

Full rotation, I'm not sure which route i'll take this weekend (if any) but I fly about once a month on any first, last or different flights to or from Ronaldsway if I can afford it and er indoors lets me out. Sometimes we'll get in 5 or 6 sectors a day. That's why the question ...

Are Eastern still finishing the SOU service after TT? Anyone know when the last flight is?

You've got to admit the Eastern service is top notch but usually expensive so I have no problem drinking lots of their free champagne. You pay for it.

I quite fancied IOM BLK on Sunday on the revamped J31 as there were some cheapies back from LPL on Euromanx - and you never know which of the Aer Arran ATR's will be used but it looks like the JEX flight has been cancelled.

If you spot any first/last or unusual flights off the rock when you're trawling through please let me know.

Not sure where IOW? or the one way trips come into it but maybe I'm being thick? Ronaldsway is IOM.

IOM Spotter.........Hmmmn Think I had too much of the Eastern Sahmpoo myself.Sorry it s/b IOM not IOW.

I would guess Jetstream people may have a full charter for Sunday in that case ? Saturday looks nearly full on the way back is is no seats available going out so must be full as well. Still 7 seats available coming back though by the look of it. Website does not show IOM now anyway for special flights.

Have a good weekend whatever routes you fly

2 J31s at BLK

I can't get the answer to my question on tech issues but it seems JEX have now realised you can't fly a J31 for 140 hours a month (including SOU route)without tech problems and schedule disruption. The new mark2 timetable needs 2 aircraft every day as one aircraft will be cooling it's heels in ABZ all day. This'll improve reliability no end but you'll never get away from the fact that the jetstreams an old lady, designed over 40 years ago as the Handley Page 137 in 1965 (It bust HP) and the very last one was made 15 years ago. As well as good base maintenance you need a good line man to fettle them every day. i hope JEX have got one in BLK as even 70 hours a week will throw up lots of little snags.

There always has been 2 J31's at BLK, JEX operating base is BLK, hence both aircraft based there.......

AOC

Interesting discussion on Manx2 thred about ticket shops. Can nav3 or anyone else from Jetstream Express confirm that they are just a ticket shop and Jetstream Executive the carrier. Their website claims Jetstream Express are the carrier . It's very confusing as it implies J.Express has an AOC. Can anyone clarify?

If you look at the JXT homepage it has a similar comment at the bottom of the page like M2. It gives JEX AOC number, just think they have forgotten to change it on the disclaimer.

My mate who knows a little about this outfit said Jetstream Express is the trading name of Business Executive Airlines, Business Executive is a joint venture between Jetstream Executive and some other people who put the money in so therefore I would expect Jetstream Executive to of put the AOC and aircraft in, so the AOC/OL has to be Jetstream Executives, no way can Jetstream Express be the carrier as its a trading name of a holding company only ?

Back the real stuff - when are the caa stats out how did they perform in May, good I hope ?

I think it needs spelling out a bit just who exactly does what within an environment such as these.

Anyone can be a ticket shop.....you, me or anyone else. No licence, no anything. HOWEVER, whilst you might be selling tickets, you can't use an aircraft in that case for financial gain from Joe Public as you are not licenced to fly for reward (even if you owned your own B737) UNLESS you have a suitable AOC. Therefore, the Trading company / Airline name /ticket shop (call it what you like) has to hire in fully approved "operator with an AOC". ie Maersk (operated by BA) etc etc Manx2 = Vanair, JXT = Jetstream Executive Travel Ltd. THEY ARE ONLY THE NAMED OPERATOR.

However, if you check, Jetstream Express is the trading name of a company called Business Executive Airlines Ltd which has directors and shareholders just like any other business. Jetstream Executive Travel MAY be a shareholder / director though of the 'Trading' company ie Manx2 / JXT.As MUFC Fan says it is all on the websites of both companies.

Just to explain futher, anybody could also OWN the aircraft. JXT, the owners of 'BEA Ltd' or anyone else for that matter. In this case if you look at the CAA files, you will see the aircraft for JXT are owned by 2 different people.

Hope that helps make things a bit clearer.

Thanks Nav3.

About the May results, they will be released on thursday, when I will post the load factors (correct this time!) and the actual passengers carried.

Cheers.
