Cancelled yet again this evening. Shocking company.
2013: 88%/95%/6%
2016: 71%/91%/5%
SOU % flights dep within 15 mins of schedule/60 mins/cancelled
2013: 86%/94%/3%
2016: 72%/89%/4%
So the number of flights departing on or within 15mins of schedule has declined somewhat since 2013 (unsurprising without three or four spare aircraft on the ground). Cancellations broadly unchanged since 2013. The figures possibly worth more than the hyperbole?

G-HUET - Monday 27th February
Any ideas why G-HUET flew LCY-Southend this morning as GR1651 before continuing from Southend to GCI as GR651A? The fact that it left LCY as GR1651 rather than as the usual GR651 would suggest the operation was pre-planned.

G-RLON
It has been reported elsewhere that G-RLON is to be retired tomorrow following a ferry flight from ACI to GCI. It made me wonder (again) what is happening with G-LGIS. 6 months has passed since it went to Oberpfaffenhofen.

Alderney
There have been some questions asked on the Aurigny Facebook page about G-OAUR being the only a/c being overnighted on Alderney and saying that it can't be used for medivacs. I understand that G-SAYE has a permanent stretcher fixture, but this won't be the case for G-OAUR. Does anyone know how medivacs are to be handled?

G-LGIS
I heard a few days ago that G-LGIS would be back in GCI within a few days. Just noticed on FR24 that flight GR400 took off from Oberpfaffenhofen this morning. Not showing on FR24 where the a/c ended up, but it does look as though G-LGIS is back in the air again.

Indeed, G-LGIS finally took to the air today and left Oberpfaffenhofen after arriving there on September 2nd, 2016. (I understand it should have returned to GCI on Monday.) Don't expect it back in service immediately, however. A lot still has to be done, including calculating its weight.
G-SAYE no longer has a permanent stretcher fixture. It did not satisfy all the medical authorities (and may not have been a particularly comforting sight to ordinary passengers!) so was removed. Ironically a medivac was required shortly after its removal.
Hermite has asked how medivacs will be handled. The answer is "with difficulty" or "by sea" until the new Air Alderney Ltd take to the air with BN Islander/Defenders. At present Aurigny remain ill-equipped to handle medivacs. This afternoon only one aircraft was available for ops from ACI - Do.228 G-OAUR. Trislander G-BEVT required routine maintenance after its ACI-GCI sector this morning and so joined G-SAYE in the hangar. All flights from ACI depended on G-OAUR meaning no aircraft was available for a medivac. Locally, many feel Air Alderney's proposals might better suit medivac needs. Do228s are not easy to adapt for emergency flights.

Trislander Disposals
Retired Trislander G-BDTO has been stripped out of useful components and moved across to the fire dump at GCI where it is parked next to the former G-PCAM (ex G-BEPH). The more-recently retired G-RLON could be destined for Solent Sky Museum. It has been suggested that it may be ferried from GCI this week. This leaves ONE Trislander in service - G-BEVT which could continue in service until May.

G-NSEY has been noted positioning to Amsterdam this morning as GR10P. Is this for maintenance? As far as I know Amsterdam has not been used before. Any off-island work has generally been carried out at Exeter.

It has certainly flown today, but I suspect it did not operate GR223. FR24 gives an alternative flight number, GR41K. Looking at GCI arrivals today it would appear that G-OAUR actually operated GR223 which can be deduced if arrival times are compared. However it looks as if LGIS may soon be flying commercially again. (After a long break since September!)

Maybe a false alarm yesterday, but it does seem to be in service today operating GR535 and GR536 so far.

Yep, looks as if it really is back in service.
It would be interesting to know the nature of the work undertaken. Apparently there were a lot of certification delays due to a distinct lack of records from past maintenance.
It's quite likely that, if the return to service is successful, G-LGIS might take precedence over G-SAYE which is unpopular due to its restricted payload.
We now await the arrival of the 228NG which I understand has been delayed.

Some months ago when there were still 3 Trislanders in service Aurigny Reservations were stating that there was a possibility of joyrides from SOU later, before withdrawal. It couldn't be confirmed then, but folk were told to look out for announcements. There have been none, so unfortunately your conclusion seems correct.

GR610 - Monday 27th March
Yesterday evening's GR610 GCI-LGW operated by ATR72 G-VZON reached the IOW at FL15.0 then turned anti-clockwise and returned to GCI. This scenario has been reported before and happened to me a few months ago on another ATR which reportedly had "computer problems" causing the return to base. Evidence suggests that G-LERE operated a replacement flight last night. Does anyone know the cause of this latest incident, this time with VZON?
