I understand that West Atlantic are looking at moving some of their maintenance ops away from Coventry due to the reduction in opening hours. I think WA may already have a maintenance facility in Ronaldsway?

It's a bit contrary isn't it? When Coventry wanted to be an airport the council they had problems with a council saying no, and when they shows signs of wanting to not be an airport they having problems with a council saying no...

Well, looks like another threat to CVT's longevity, Jaguar Landrover eyeing up the site for a new super plant for batteries and associated electric vehicles.
Jaguar Land Rover factory could be built on Coventry Airport runway - Coventry Telegraph
Can never pay its way as an airport anymore with BHX's evolution and capabilities, so bets on destiny now?

ATC shortages seem to be having a major affect on operations at CVT with VFR traffic only being allowed between now and Monday according to the recent NOTAMs. How long before West Atlantic move out?

...and closed again today. Looks like redundancies in ATC and other turmoil. Maybe going unlicensed for future? Can't see what would be left as light GA activity would warrant keeping any of the infrastructure going or maintained.
Closure or redevelopment for Jaguar Land Rover looking closer?

I cannot see how that can work for Coventry - it is too big to operate in this way. What does it offer that Wellesborne doesn't?
Oh well IMC renewals at Oxford, Cranfield or Cambridge now I guess.

Can't see a sustainable airport of that scale with all the costs for maintenance, business rates etc. with just that bottom end GA market to survive on. VFR, AFIS, 9-5, Cat 1 RFF, nothing commercial going in, just the minor light GA stuff. Atlantic freight and maintenance already gone I hear. People like Aerotech for example own their own premises, so no rental income to the airport.

Can't help but think this news from a couple of weeks ago about Sir Peter Rigby buying the Marshall hangar at Birmingham Airport contributed to the current situation
