CVT has potential with the way it is going.....It had none the way it wanted to go....I hope it turns out for you...No one takes delight in an airport failing...

dont know if it is an old rumour or not, but heard that cvt is going back to the council to push through permission for planning for new terminal and then sell it back to either new or previous owners, so that airlines can come into cvt. ( app these two airlines who wanted to come in before (whoever they are)) due to happen in next 6 - 12 months. perhaps that's the reason why cvt owners are messing around , i.e accounts opening hours cargo airlines

Or the airport lease changed hands during the accounting period.
Readers might want to question the accuracy of the reporting particularly the bit that the government would aquire the airport if West Midlands international airport was dissolved given that they do not own the airport but lease it off Coventry City Council.

It has nothing to do with government.. But upon a Ltd Co being dissolved or struck off, all assets become the property of the crown. If WMIA Ltd still owns the lease, and don't get their accounts in then the lease becomes the crown's property.
There may be a clause in the lease, and often is, that in the event of dissolution of the company the lease reverts to the free-holder (NB Council); or as is also common WMIA may only have a sub lease from a head lessor in re form of Tui or any previous owner.
It's all very complicated. I personally think WMIA will just file (crap) accounts in due course!

Not all the Atp's on site are part of the Atlantic fleet. At least three are there for storage an ex Emerald example and two from First Flight although Atlantic do appear to be looking after them. There has also been a Magic Bird one around for a considerable time. Finally on the ATP front one has been rolled out in the last couple of days in the new West Atlantic livery.

The accounts will need to be signed before they are put in. How can they say they are a going concern? They only were a going concern last time due to the expansion that was coming. They will need to right off most of the money spent on planning applcation.

Is it not the 2007 accounts that have not been posted (according to the MD). Those accounts would, even if bad, be better than subsequent accounts.......
Whatever the problem it does not exactly breed confidence does it??

Late accounts
By the way don't get too excited by late filing - it is incredibly common. One bizarre quirk of recent times is that, whilst the Government has been bending over backwards to give businesses a helping hand through recession with deferred tax and VAT breaks, it forgot that, from 1st Feb 09, the new Companies Act came into force with huge new penalties for late filing of accounts and a reduced period in which to do so. The new fines are designed to reduce the incidence of late filing which is, as I said before, commonplace, but I suspect many businesses are now late because they can't afford to pay the accountants!
So, anyway, nothing particularly rare of sinister about WMIAL being late.

Was just wondering if there is maybe a scheduled airline on the horizon at Coventry again if you're opening up again? Genuine question as wouldn't have thought there would be enough passengers to justify opening up again otherwise, unless relying on the Business Development Manager to single-handedly keep you going(which is highly possible)

The new SkyPartners cafe is at Coventry Aeroplane Club on the north side near the Rw23 threshold - ie no where near a terminal or apron.
The potential good news is that having them back could mean that on board catering is available for business flights using the new FBO on the South Apron??
There is no prospect of any airline operating scheduled services from CVT at the moment.
