BMI regional whats happening?

Hi all,

A friend of mine had an interview months ago with BMI regional and he was successful and was told he will be invited for a sim check on the Embraer 145 sim. However after a long period of time they still haven't called with a date. He has been in contact with BMI and they said that the reason for the long delay is because the sim is so booked up seeing as there is only the one in the UK.

So my question is this...
Is this really the case or is there another reason as to why they still havent set a date for the sim check? I think the wait has been around 4-6 months now.

Thanks in advance

I am aware of people having interviews, getting the sim ride, getting the job. In the last month. But this is at the direct entry command level, don't know about FO entry.

F/O's slated to move to mainline were having course dates delayed due to 330's going on heavy maintenance, hence a few too many Airbus pilots till it's all over. with the expected knock on effect.

Thanks for the reply. My friend will be pleased to learn that this is the reason, he was starting to think that they had changed their minds.

Any idea when the maintenance will be completed on the 330's and the F/Os moving onto them?

Regards

As far as I know, those due to leave Regional to move to mainline have not been given a firm date, and I shouldn't think it will happen for a good few months yet.

Having said all that, there are other F/Os leaving the company, so recruitment will kick again after New Year to plug those gaps.

Cheers,

HS

Things would look much rosier and move along that much quicker if the long haul expansion plans actually involved bmi pilots
