Locals, those not associated with the airport and with their back gardens adjacent to the development. The meeting wasn't a very organised affair by all accounts, just Joe Public looking to organise their efforts in objecting, for a number of reasons, to the development.

Just been musing this development and thought of a similarity with MG Rover, company bought out by Poenix and assests sold one by one, company goes bump, Phoenix consortium make off with the cash.

Lots of land assests at Blackpool

No doubt Spacehoppers may see that area as potential , Emerald could bin the remaining lease and they could either flatten those hangars for car parking spaces , Isn't that what they want to do with the buildings around Comed anyway , or use the whole lot for retail development !!

Monarch starting on Nov 1st , no structural terminal changes yet for the extra services and no car parking spaces to cope with the promised increase in pax ! Will it be no free parking anywhere on the airport for flying clubs/schools/operators ?

I beleive it is only going to be the shed maintenance than moves to SEN.

Though i could be wrong !

I am little out of the loop now I no longer work for them but my emerald contacts have told me this is the case.

As always its only the MOB etc who know whats really going on............no really they do even though sometimes it doesnt appear so :-)

yeah MOB could run it and show them a thing or two about retail sales etc

plenty of morale boosting in the morning meeting when the sales team dont make his realistic sales targets ;-)

All this will be depressingly familiar to anyone who knows anything about the goings on at Halfpenny Green, sorry Wolverhampton International or whatever. Can't work out whether these City Hopper people are stupid or whether they have some grand masterplan which is beyond mere mortals. One thing is certain, they aint got any money!

Blackpool and Wolverhampton

Pomme

I agree with you I used to fly from that great little airfield(halfpanny green) until they turned it into Wolverhampton Business Spaceport, clubs moved out, prices went up and traffic declined, they went to ATC, hired controllers and as I understand it purchased an ILS.

The only commercial traffic they had in there that I can remember was charged more for approach and landing than at BHX and thats without any decent services.

All this has ruined the place, they have now returned to FISO and the one big school there dictates or likes to think it does the terms and conditions on the airfield. Bring back the Club airfield for professionals and Leisure flyers we still need them !!!!!!
