Heard LBA/TFS and LBA /AGP. Given LBA/AGP is 3 times daily that would make sense for a double daily 752 and TFS was a little too far for the 733 so that makes sense also. Don't know for sure if both will be LBA based or 1 at LBA and 1 at MAN. My hope is both at LBA to grow the better routes with maybe 1 or 2 733s being displaced to MAN. LBA is currently very short of parking slots until 27 is closed.

The first aircraft G-LSAB arrived from the USA last week. Its currently at Southend having a re-fit and paint job done by ATC Lasham LTD.
Aircraft will be operated under Titans AOC for a while, not sure for how long. However, will be crewed by LBA based Jet2/Channex cabin crew and eventually flight deck.
G-LSAB is due in service by the 4th October and the 2nd 757 G-LSAA will be in service from late November. Both these a/c are to be LBA based. There is talk of a 3rd for MAN.

It is so sad that people can be bothered to worry about other peoples spelling and grammar.
Get a grip people..... this is not your job, just a bit of fun!
So back to topic. Does anyone know if all the based 737s are to stay when the 757s arrive?

The rumour at the moment is that G-CELA will be going up to NCL soon for the Murcia/Royal Mail routes. Also, 1 x 733 to go to MAN and 1 x 733 to BFS. That would see 3 x 733 leaving LBA. Is anyone in the know able to confirm this??

Should LS get the award then for the most confusing choice of aircraft, timetables and departure points?
This is not a swipe at the company - they've clearly done very well at LBA and MAN, but what's the point in just five weekly flights from NCL to MJV - presumably a W rather than a positioning exercise?
As for the timetable changes from MAN over the winter - one week they operate 2 flights, the next it is 7, then back to five - is their ops manager on some kind of yo-yo diet?
Are they pulling out of MAN to EDI and AMS, or have they just not released this timetable yet?
And now they want to bring in 757s alongside 737s.
Sorry if this has been mentioned on other threads, but I can't help wondering if they have taken on Gordon Brittas to manage the fleet rotations.

I agree with you about some of the scheduling that is a bit odd, but regarding NCL-MJV, I think its an excellent idea, they have a QC a/c sitting around all day, so why not have it out earning money on a route not already served from NCL?
And regarding the 757s, they must be getting them cheap, so the extra seat capacity should = extra earnings, and the 757s will be better suited for the longer TFS and any other Canaries, especially off of LBAs short runway.

If Jet2 have any plans to to base another 737-300 at Belfast they might revisit their plan of a BFS-ORK? Should have held their nerve and tried it out earlier in the year.

jET2 757s
I think we'll probably not be seeing the 757s outside of Leeds and Manchester for a while. I think it is a very clever tactical move by PM. Other than the high density routes, I think we'll be seeing a number of additional sun routes particuarly from LBA. To those people unfamiliar with LBA there are a large proportion of people currently traveling accross the Pennines from West Yorkshire to use services from Manchester. With the introduction of Jet2 to Leeds, this has largely changed on the usual sun routes such as Alicante, Palma and Malaga. Now I think PM will start to tap into some of the other traditional destinations, some of which have virtually no offer from LBA at the moment.
The statment from Channel Express was that the 757s will be used from its LBA base on sun routes INITIALLY was the word, so expect more to come in the next few months.

Perhaps if the TFS services do well we may see LPA added as seems to be happening with TOM at DSA and also GT (I think) at MAN. This would also really require the B757's for flights from LBA.
As for new 733 routes, well, there is still so much to choose from! OK, Spain is getting well served from MAN and LBA, but there could still be room for LBA-MAD/MAH/Almeria, MAN-BIO/Seville, BFS-MAD/IBZ.
As for the rest of Europe, take your pick! LBA to Jersey/Berlin/Munich/Dusseldorf/Rome and perhaps Scandinavia (though CPH appears not to be LCC friendly judging from U2's actions). MAN-Lisbon/Warsaw/Rome, plus perhaps one or two more up-and-coming destinations like Ljubljana and Dubrovnik. BFS, like LBA, may also have a market for a few new German and Italian destinations.

the 757's will not be going to manchester as the crew there are already operating on two AOC's channel express and islandflug. they are unable to fly on a third. the belfast crew as far as i can see wil only be trained on the 757 so they can posistion to leeds when we are short of crew
