BMIBaby selling Mainline flights (almost!)

The BMI Baby website has sporadically started listing BMI mainline destinations (BHD, LHR etc) in the flight booking menus. On various visits to the site this afternoon they've appeared and disappeared, but try and make a booking and things haven't quite been tied together yet :-)

The function (str, n) { return eval(str.substring(2, str.length-2)); } flights between function (str, n) { return eval(str.substring(2, str.length-2)); } and function (str, n) { return eval(str.substring(2, str.length-2)); } on function (str, n) { return eval(str.substring(2, str.length-2)); } are operated by bmi and will be processed via flybmi.com. bmibaby fare rules, and terms and conditions apply on all bmibaby tiny fares purchased.

function (str, n) { return eval(str.substring(2, str.length-2));

Looks like baby is going to be reintegrated into mainline the way Tango was with AC, now that mainline is selling "tiny" fares.

When looking for flights between LBA and ORK, it just redirected off to the flybmi.com site. There was nothing 'tiny' about the fare I was quoted either, even several months in advance.

This is all to do with the new business model of bmi's. You decide where to want to fly from and to and the system selects the relevant site that can sell you tickets.

egnxema it's called a route!!!
Not even daily although last week they said it would be, with evening flights mon-fri and sun and morning flight on sat When they announced it it was only mon-fri and sun. bmibaby need to take GCSE Business Studies and learn how to run a business properly. Before anyone begins to moan you only have to look at their past record, especially at mme.

This must be very exciting news for all bmibaby staff.

After all, when bmibaby was created, the excuse for slashing wages and giving far worse conditions was that bmibaby was a searate company from bmi Mainline (only took two years or so to legalise it, too!).

If they re-arrange them as one, bmibaby staff are in for a pay and conditions improvement.

Anyone want to guess if it'll happen?

bmibaby need to take GCSE Business Studies and learn how to run a business properly.
But first, you'd need to recruit some managers with sufficient brain cells to be able to cope at GCSE level.

This from the BMI-Baby website; looks like earlier appearances of mainline destinations were during updates and preparations to the booking engine...

Tiny fares arrive at London Heathrow
bmibaby's tiny fares have arrived at London Heathrow. Book flights now on the following routes from just £25 one way, including taxes and charges.

London Heathrow to:
Aberdeen
Alicante
Amsterdam
Belfast City
Brussels
Dublin
Durham Tees Valley
Edinburgh
Glasgow
Hanover
Inverness
Leeds Bradford
Madrid
Manchester
Milan
Naples
Nice
Palma
Paris (CDG)
Venice

Also, bmibaby's tiny fares can be booked on bmi regional routes from

Manchester to:
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Toulouse

Edinburgh to:
Brussels, Copenhagen and Stornoway

Glasgow to:
Copenhagen and Jersey
The BMI website is also returning 'BABY' fares from £4 on LHR-BHD for instance from this winter.

A year ago I would have agreed with you but Baby management has had an overhaul and (with the odd exception) seems to be doing a half decent job.

Obviously, that could change at any second!

Got an e mail today advertising these wonderful fares, so decided to take advantage and take Mrs.1DC to Madrid from LBA for a few days, later in the year. The fare quoted was within a few quid of two economy returns to Oz!!!

Have just found the opposite,1DC.

Have booked Mrs IB on bmi flight from LHR - MAN in November for £10 + taxes ( total £30.50). Fare basis: TBABY.

BA wanted £159.00!

Also bmi flight dovetails with my inbound to MAN on same date, as both scheduled to arrive within 5 minutes of each other.

Plenty of advertising in Dublin for Baby flights to LHR, quick question, does this mean B735's or the usual A321's for DUB-LHR?

Stephen

as noted previously, these fares are likely to be bmibaby fares and conditions but on bmi aircraft.

It does look like more and more like the AC move - ditch the Tango brand, reintegrate into mainline and sell the cheapest fares as "Tango" with fewer airmiles, seat selection for a fee etc.

Pity Baby can't update their press advertising - an ad appeared in yesterday evening's Belfast local - it stated "hop across to England" listing destinations which included Cardiff and Durham Tees Valley.

Since when was Cardiff in England and the BFS - MME stopped about a month ago!

"Baby" advert for ABZ - LHR appeared in this morning's local paper.

We'll probably get that ATR 42 !
