A few months ago I was in the company of PM and the subject of 757s was raised. He had already dismissed the aircraft on the grounds of cost. I can't remember whether that was acquisition or operating; I suspect the latter.

That was then and this is now. This rumour has been circulating at work for a few weeks now so watch this space.

Would've thought it unlikley for Jet 2 ops but maybe a few at the right price for conversion to Freighters for Channex?
The rumored LBA/TFS could be a reason as they could use one on the AGP, which runs 3 times daily in summer with the 733, and still do a TFS.
Doesn't sit right though a 752 with an LCA. PM's no mug though, guess we'll have to wait and see.

A family member asked me when the new Cyprus flight was going to commence from Leeds, can anyone confirm that Jet2.com have actually announced the service?

well, the canaries is on the destination map. Guess the 757 would be more comfortable going that distance

no, it's not a rumour, it's true and has been know for the last few months.

No it is not a big rumour at the "moment", it was a big rumour six months ago. There was no truth behind it then or even now.

It appears we have another '14 loop' on PPRuNe, however with a slightly different 'handle', ie '14loop' as opposed to my '14 loop'.

Beware of imitations! Stick with the original 14 loop that resides near Compton!! You'll see that out new friend 14loop doesn't know their geography as the 'tunnel' passes beneath the runway, NOT the loop.
