Angry AVIANCE-Forced out of CWL

The management of Cardiff Airport are trying to force Aviance out by terminating their contract.
They are claiming Aviance have breached umpteen regulations, and that they have to go!!

Does anyone know the legalities of something like this, and how the airport stands on actually getting them out.

As far as I am concerned, Aviance do a good job, professional, very friendly, and always well staffed!
Given that they currently handle about 80% of the flights over servisair - what is it all about?

Aviance only handle more flights than Servisair because Air Wales were forced to sign to Aviance by BMI Baby

Cardiff isn't really big enough for two handling agents. Just the one will work perfectly (see BRS). Unfortunatly for Aviance, Servisair handle the summer "major players" like BY, VZ, JK, TY, KM, Z4, FHY, FR, 8Q. Servisair also have cargo facilities and with Airway Handling they dominate ramp operations. An Aviance handled aircraft can't be turned around without some input from Servisair.

I am glad you have also spotted that basically CWL want Aviance out, and Servisair in.

Unfortunately I believe they are going the wrong way about it, by claiming they are in breach of contracts etc, instead of just saying the truth.

Your comment regarding the big players is interesting. Compare the passenger numbers year round (bearing in mind BMI, FCA, KLM, AIRWALES, BALKAN, LTE ETC, and Aviance way out Servisair by far.

It all seems a bit wrong to me! And I work for neither of them!
Cheers

I had heard a rumour that it was more to do with AENA bringing in a Spanish Handling agent rather than Servisair getting the business.

Air Wales were not forced to sign with Aviance by bmibaby.

Air Wales account for more movements at CWL than anyone else and when the contract was up for renewal Aviance won on purely commercial grounds....simple as that.

There was a rumour in the Aviance office the other day that Servisair had also received a similar letter from the airport.

You would have to be very brave, stupid or both to make up contract breach allegations, when this could be handled on a purely commercial basis.

Well they are obviously not doing something right if the airport want them out....!

Like I said in my earlier post. It looks as though TBI want a single handling agent operating at Cardiff and as Servisair has a complete set of services already in place i.e. Passenger and cargo operations, ICS cleaning, Airway handling running the show on the ramp.........it will make sense to keep servisair. As for the comment about AENA bringing in a Spanish handling agent, remember, Servisair have a large operation at their Spanish airports

Starting to hear that both Servisair and Airways have been given their 'notice' aswell as Aviance.

Could be a complete shake up on the way!

There has to be more to this than meets the eye.

If all the Handling Agents have been given notice to quit then the Airport must have an agenda of its own, plus I imagine the Lawyers will be very busy!!

You call Servisair Cowboys but I ask you, which handling agent boarded a First choice Faro passenger onto an Air Wales Newcastle flight? Which handling agent closed a BMI Baby check in with half the flight still in front of the check in desks because the check in staff were too slow.......? We had a dedicated KLM check in team who offered a far more personal and professional service than just chucking anyone on the check in and you only have to stand behind the KLM check in to watch how unprofessional aviance staff are. Standing and shouting "Any gold or silver wing card holders???".......

I also have it from a reliable source that servisair have not been served notice at Cardiff

SH - I could list the reasons why Servisair lost the contract with Air Wales at Cardiff, but it would take too much bandwidth. Before you start rattling on about "baby made them do it", wrong, 100% wrong. It was a commercial decision which had a lot to do with the service delivered by Servisair - including "forgetting" (Servisair's words, not mine) a flight that only came in every weekday.....

... and in case you can't resist a pop at Air Wales, pause to ask how many other businesses say that their poor delivery is the customer's fault....??

Forgetting that the contract was about to expire, and then just "assuming" AW would want to renew it was also a bit of a cheek....

In a past life I have been a customer of Servisair at CWL and found them to be no strangers to the odd mistake or two!

It is easy to point the finger at others misfortunes, and I'm sure that aviance have made mistakes because ALL Handling Agents make mistakes from time to time. It is how they recover the situation that is very important, both on the day, and at the subsequent meetings to discuss the service failure.

The mud slinging from Speedbird Heavy doesn't do the Servisair team at CWL any favours because he paints a picture of them being petty and vindictive. Spend more time putting/keeping your own house in order would be my advice.
