NEW ROUTES
We heard yesterday afternoon that AIR ATLANTIQUE will be doing a double Jersey-Stansted-Jersey flight daily and a possible Jersey-Zurich-Jersey flight three times a week.
This is great news for Jersey and everbody will give as much support in Jersey to try and make this a success.
The flights will be opperated by an ATR72.
From the information recieved it look like the aircraft may be based in Jersey

Well transitionlevel mabe you need to go up the road to Coventry to find out as Air Atlantiqes base is there.
I do know there is a connection some where in the company with Jersey but i do not know where.
Good luck with the job front, it might only be on the ATR but we all have to start some where, at least it would be better than flying the good old garden shed around.
Money is not every thing we all know but it helps, there is no point in flying a truck around when a pick up is a little bit better.
Who knows what would come next the mini before the Rolls- Royce of the sky what ever that may be.

Air Atlantique / Blueislands
With the annoucement of Air Atlantique to start opperating to Stansted and Zurich at the start of the summer, it seem strange as Air Atlantique have not done scheduled work for some time.
Are they supplying the aircraft and crews and operating for someone else say Blueislands??
These routes are ones that the old Rockhopper were thinking of doing so could there be a connection??
Blueislands are due to launch there web sight on Valintines day so there may be a suprise or to to come out could be very interesting.

Class Licence
Could it be that Rockhopper/Blueislands don't have a Class A licence at the moment and so are getting Air Atlantic to operate the routes? Could it be another "ticket issuer" arrangement aka Euromanx of past??
I wouldn't have thought, with Rockhoppers backers, that satisfying CAA financial fitness for a Class A would have been a problem?

Ops Bungle - am not aware that EMX ever used AirAtlantique as ticket issuer.
Yes, DenimAir [and earlier Rossair] tktd in olden days,
but EMX only leased AA (and Air Wales) planes/crew.
Correct me if wrong pse.

Arrival of the First
All being well Blueislands first aircraft will arrive in Jersey on the 17th Feb.
It ill be doing ground familiarization before going in to commercial operation.
All being well starting operations at the end of the month and by the beginning of the summer schedule all crews will be fully trained.
It has been confirmed to day tha BMI have cut off their ties with Leeds and will not be operating a service this summer.
With only a connection to Newcastle on a Saturday in the summer should Jet2 be looking at a possible connection with the Channel Islands. Channel Express has had a long partnership with Jersey although the last twenty years has been freight related but before them there connection with the good old Intra Airways.
Would it be nice to see some of these coming back after so many years .

Ticket provider
euromanxed
I was comparing what Euromanx did when they had a Class B licence and used the ATR42 from Rossair, to what possibly could be a tie-up between Blueisland & Air Atlantic. I do appreciate that Euromanx did not have that specific relationside with Air Atlantic.
and its Ops Bangle btw.

Tie Up
Ref opsbangle above
The reason for a possible tie up is follows.
1. It looks like the aircraft is based in Jersey.
2. Blueislands (Rockhopper) were looking into the two routes.
So can you see there may be a connection.???

Interesting Times 2006 Summer
It looks like an interesting times at Jersey this summer
A thred from stand 22 in the Blueislands/Air Atlantique states one connection is the ex CEO of Atlantic Air Transport is a good friend of the MD of Air Atlantique.
The second part is quoted as Blueislands will be ticketing agents for AAt.
The third bit is in connection with a Dakota operation to the U.k.
If all is correct it would be great news for a lot of people at the airport to have so much new interest providing all works.
Any more updates will be very interesting.
It would be nice to hear the Dakota operating in and out of the Islands. Like the good old days of Intra/Jersey Airlines/Channel Airways/Rousseau Aviation so may be the Dak is back??

From the ThisisJersey website:
NEW airlines and flights to more destinations are the aims of a future strategy for the Airport.
Chief Minister Frank Walker has given an undertaking to cut Airport charges to attract more travellers to Jersey.
And cheaper air fares could be the result - with the possibility that budget carriers such as Easyjet and Ryanair may rekindle interest in flying to and from the Island.
The way the Airport is run is to be completely overhauled, and the Council of Ministers wants to work with airlines to find ways for them to be able to fly more people to and from Jersey and introduce flights to more places. Senator Walker said that landing fees would fall. He added: 'There is an unshakeable destiny on Airport charges that they will come down. It is not a case of if, but when, and by how much.'
Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf said: 'The way the Airport is operated will be much more businesslike in future.'

Blueislands Arrival
With the new branding of Rockhopper arriving tomorrow (Valintines Day) how nice will Jersey Airport be holding a champage reception to welcome this big change??
Will the rebranding have some secrets to be revieled??:
Unfortunate that the first Jetstream G-ISLB will not arrive in time but we believe will be in Jersey buy the end of the week.

JER-ACI cut back
Seems as though the blueislands web site won't be live till the 21st Feb.
Did find out on the rockyhopper site that they've cut back the JER-ACI (Alderney) flights to only three days a week. Mon/Wed/Fri. I can understand no demand on Tues & Thurs, but seems very strange that there is no Sunday evening flight. Obviously don't want tourists!

From today's JEP, Air Atlantique is to fly to STN three times a day; it is also to fly three times a week to ZRH.
Hopefully, the ZRH will feed into the LX network there? Any chance of a codeshare, in due course?

AURIGNY Saab G-GNTC
With this aircraft being converted to a freighter and departed on the 18th for respray, is it intended to replace the Shorts 360 on the mail contract??
Or is the aircraft not going to be operated but has been converted to be sold on??
