Exclamation Contruction site at DXB airport collapses

Just in: Contruction site at DXB airport collapsed a short while ago, apparentely people are trapped inside.

Someone knows more?

Casualties confirmed but numbers unknown yet. It seems mainly construction workers are affected as the collapsed structure was a shell.

Sympathy to those concerned.

"A hospital official said at least 10 people were being treated for injuries. Rescue teams were searching for more people under the rubble."

Do I not recall that this terminal was the same design as that at CDG that collapsed recently?
If so, coincidence?

Yes, coincidence. The section affected was a scaffold put up while a concrete wall was being built. That's far removed from the case in Paris which was to do with the roof support of a finished building.

The only comment at the moment really is, condolences to the families concerned, and a speedy and full recovery to those who are injured. Good luck to the rescue teams working in the heat and conditions out there.
