New Mytravel Lite Route - Menorca

Just booked winter flights to Tenerife on Mytravel Lite and noticed they have launched Mahon, looks like 3 times a week. Is there any other low cost airline that goes there? Do you think Mahon is ready for loco flights?

Don't see why Mahon shouldn't be ready for low cost flights, its been taking charters for years! Why wouldn't it be ready? If Coventry can do low cost, why can't Mahon?

I agree Nickmanl. Don't see why not. MON Sched have been doing it for a while from LTN, but don't know what their loads are like?

I think the point to be made about Menorca is that it is similar to Ibiza in that the tourist trade virtually shuts down during the winter ... I don't think any of the low cost airlies fly to Ibiza during the winter for that very reason.

Monarch reductheir Mahon services to twice a week during the winter.

With that in mind you are only left with passengers visiting friends and family or UK passengers who might have a second home on the island and I think at three times a week MyLite might be pushing it a bit to get good loads. Hope I'm wrong!

Other than that they’re both airports, I’m not sure I follow your logic there. Coventry is located in the centre of England surrounded by a few million potential customers who want flights to sunny destinations. On the other hand, Menorca has a population of 65,000 - most of whom probably have no desire to visit the West Midlands anytime soon.

BHX-MAH should be great success for MyTravelLite, but I wouldn’t put this down to Mahón being somehow like Coventry - I doubt that the bi-directionality of route will be anything to get excited about. Can you really see someone doing a Thomsonfly and starting 15 routes out of MAH?
