Excellent news

Does this mean there will be two aircraft based at BFS?

It looks to me as though there will be from 31 Oct because two aircraft would appear to be required at roughly the same time on a sunday.

Grewt news for NI! On the timetable from 31OCT BFS-PRG Dept 0840 lands back BFS 1410, BFS-BCN Dept 1520 lands back BFS 2105. So just 1 aircraft needed here at the moment, but from 24th Sep to 30 Oct the Dept times do mean 2 aircraft are needed. BFS-PRG Dept 1045 lands back BFS 1405, BFS-BCN Dept 1255 lands back BFS 1900.

Ole! now Ulster tourists can fly to Barcelona too.

Ben Lowry writes in the Belfast Telegraph today:

New direct scheduled flights from Northern Ireland to Barcelona were announced today, making the Spanish city the latest destination in a growing list of European airports accessed directly from Belfast.

The low cost carrier Jet2.com is to start the daily service from Aldergrove late next month.

Philip Meeson, the airline's boss, said he was " thrilled" to be in Belfast this morning to announce the route.

" Barcelona really is an amazing city, full of culture, great shopping, great food, tremendous architecture and a fantastic climate "

Jet2.com, who already fly from Belfast to Prague, said the decision to launch the service came in responce to " overwhelming demand ".

Fares on the service, that begins on Friday September 24, start at £21 per person one-way.

Well, that's the Watch Christmas ' Do' sorted then!

ALLMCC

You are cordially invited to have a pre Christmas drink with some of the splendid ATCO boys and girls from BFS. Time and place to be decided. We usually meet up with EasyJet aircrew so just think of the fun you will have.

Thanks for the invite but must regretfully decline - all cheap "orange" juice and I'd probably have to bring my own anyway!

Yeah , anybody can join in as long as you`re buying drink. It can`t be my round again!!
Maybe ALLM would prefer to inbibe with the equally splendid though not quite as wealthy BHD Atco`s. The only problem is we usually meet up with some of the usual suspects from BFS!!
