A300s are finished after October, other options (including CPT) are still being investigated.

Why would they scrap 18yr old A300s which are capable of flying for another few years. There better of just going to another company rather than feel sorry for themselves on death row.

Tommy, aircraft do not "feel sorry for themselves". They are machines and, in common with all other machines, they eventually reach the end of their useful life where no-one can make economic use of them any more.

When this happens, all useful parts (eg, avionics) are removed from the aircraft and it is broken up. Often with a JCB.

And no, they don't go to Aircraft Heaven.

There is another thread on this topic which refers to the lack of a sim for the 2-person-cockpit A300B2/4, thus the reason for standing them down.

Terror is firmer

I suppose they should go raise their costs by having a pretty little livery so all the spotters can take pretty pictures !!

Keeping an airline afloat in the current climate isnt easy...I doubt they're too bothered about their livery to be fair

I had heard the reason for them being retired is that they are due D checks which will cost more than the aircraft are worth

Fokker-off

New aircraft will have to be painted from the previous operators colours unless they plan a hybrid paint job.
