Thumbs down Poor Little Baby

bmibaby have released Winter Seats from Nottingham EMA.

Only flying to 15 destinations - of those, only 10 have a daily service.

ALC Daily x1
AMS Daily x2
BFS Daily x2
BOD Weekly x3
ORK Daily x1
DUB Daily x2
EDI Daily x3
GVA Weekly x2
GLA Daily x3
JER Weekly x4
AGP Daily x1
NCE Weekly x2
PMI Weekly x3
CDG Daily x2
PRG Daily x1

Any surpirses to anyone? Surprised DUB has stayed in there. Not surprised to see MJV go due to the FR alternative.

NOC
FAO
MJV
IBZ
TLS
BRU
PSA
BGY
MUC
BCN

....have all disappeared from baby's EMA offering. Thought BGY and TLS could have been do-able ski destinations in the winter.

And surely, either WW or EZY will bring back BCN - will EZY get it first?

Competition hurting? FR especially on BCN/MJV/DUB
NOC decision after only 2 months of operation.
Will there be expansion elsewhere to compensate?
Interesting to see TOM expand last night for Winter (stark contrast to WW).

It does seem strange then that baby are starting a recruitment drive including adding to the 737 fleet.

Any of you folks in the East Mids area know if baby are planning to set up shop up the road at LBA ? It would be nice to know once and for all. No doubt Mr Meeson would be interested too.
Let us know !

Angry

Here we go, someone trying to stir up bad news for Baby!

Don't fly orange planes do you?

Baby is doing fine, Easy is doing fine, give the bashing a rest!

New routes maybe announced soon, they may not. The company have plans to grow whether its NEMA or elsewhere, time will tell.

Grrr

How come baby has the capacity to lease a 300 to Olympic Airways?

Olympic leases 737-300s
13Jul Olympic Airlines leased a Boeing 737-300 from Hola Airlines. The aircraft carries its Spanish registration. This is the 2nd 737-300 leased, the first one came from Bmi Baby in the same livery as the one below and is registered SX-BLC.

Rumour from the top is that the BHX base will definately open, but does anyone know if it will be with BHX based aircraft and crew or W patterns like LGW?

Seems they like to spread their aircraft and staff very thinly down at baby towers!

MAN routes on sale from this morning. Just 9 destinations for the winter. Looks like Barcelona, Bordeaux and Paris have been axed with Geneva not returning. BFS looks its been upped to 4 x daily with PRG going 2 x daily.

The bmibaby timetables are arguably some of the worst to follow, so I could be wrong.

Presumably the additional MAN - BFS rotation is to counter BACX which has been experiencing strong growth on BHD - MAN. What defies logic is why Baby persist with MME & CWL from BFS. MME in particular is poorly supported and have it on good authority that CWL is little better - perhaps the silly timings are part of the reason!

No not a politician, just a pilot fed up with people who can only knock others!

Baby has some plans. I don't know what they are but I do know the company performance is alright. CWL lost an aircraft from its programme earlier this year but is now doing very well. Nema may lose an aircraft or not but it is doing fine on the whole. Its probable that the powers that be have plans that we are not privvy to. Plans that they believe are more rewarding than previous schedules.

I'm just fed up with seeing Baby knocked at every opportunity.

Baby is not perfect but neither are Easy or Ryanair.

Alterego i agree some people just tend to have a go at baby non stop. At MME they are performing well and from what i can gather are keeping a based aircraft there, yet you never hear about how well they are doing there. Yet people are obssesd with how well easy are doing at NCL and Jet2 at LBA

Also you have to remember in general low cost will cut some summer sun flights as demand reduces in the winter months, these are off set by extra flight to ski resorts and places like Prague (xmas market etc) but in general there are fewer flights in the summer. (I think)

Right first time! BOD = Bordeaux. As well as a favourite yellow cartoon from the 70's with unusual legs!
