Air France (AF/Paris CDG) has secured 89% of shares in KLM (KL/Amsterdam). The two carriers which are going to operate under a joint holding company have also announced further network changes. They will start codesharing on all routes between The Netherlands and France on June 1 when KLM cityhopper (WA/Amsterdam) will also launch a new twice daily Fokker 50 service from Rotterdam to Paris CDG. Both carriers will add their codes to a big number of European routes. KLM will give up its routes from Amsterdam to Caracas, Casablanca and Turin by the end of this month and replace it with codeshare flights through Paris CDG. Air France will give up its routes from Paris CDG to Bristol and Glasgow Intl by the end of May and is expected to drop Manila from October in favour of codesharing with KLM.
Air Scotland (Glasgow Intl) will inaugurate twice weekly service from Glasgow Intl to Athens on June 11 using its B757-200 wet-leased from Greece Airways (GRE/Athens).
British Airways (BA/London Heathrow) has launched twice daily service from Birmingham to Lyon, daily service from Birmingham to Vienna and a weekly flight linking Birmingham and Nice on May 5 taking up ex-Duo Airways routes using British Airways CitiExpress (TH/Manchester) BAe 146-200s. The UK flag carrier will however give up its Bristol-Dublin route by the end of this month.
easyJet (U2/London Luton) is reportedly considering adding Finland, Norway and Sweden to its network later this year.
Emerald Airways (JEM/Liverpool) will start up to five times daily BAe ATP service between Liverpool and the Isle of Man on May 10.
Transaero Airlines (UN/Moscow Domodedovo) is reportedly planning to add Chicago O'Hare, Manchester and Montreal Dorval to its network later this year

Thanks for that summary. There are other new routes reported in the forum - should we add to this list? TOM from Finningley for starters, and obviously the BA is a response to the demise of duo.
Isn't BA switching a rotation from BRS > DUB to do BRS > CDG after AF pull out?
What are the implications for AF's other regional services. GLA was a waste of time as it usually went via BHX - but BA mirrored this. AF seem to have scheduled competition on many of their CDG routes - EDI, ABZ, BHX, whereas KLM only have EZ to compete with, apart from LON & MAN. AF don't even operate LBA > CDG, whereas KLM reach AMS from HUY, NWY & MME to name a few. So is the idea of this partnership to encourage transfers through AMS?
How about CDGs 2 hour connecting banks?
Also, any more on the rumour of AA doing MAN > BOS?

Aer Lingus commenced a daily B 735 on BRS-DUB in March which, taken with the three Ryanair rotations also on this route, meant it was probably no surprise that BACX pulled out.
