Kingair type rating?
Can anybody give me some advice?
I have posted some questions on the carribean forum and have had no answers as yet.
I am planning to go to either africa or the carribean to try and get a job flying a twin, preferably a kingair.
The question is would getting a type rating myself put me in a good position to achieve this and where could anyone suggest I go to do it?
All advice appreciated
Thanks in advance

There are a few companies in South Africa that give King Air ratings. I know that NAC in Johannesburg and Federal Air in Durban do these ratings. Not too sure of costs but will probably be cheeper that going to Flight Safety for example, but then again, don't expect the same quality.
As to your question of a rating helping you get a job, all I can say is that you will have to join the end of the queue when it comes to King Air jobs in Africa. Do yourself a favour and ask around the King Air operators to have a better idea about job availability before you go and spend a packet on a rating that might not get you employed.
My advice - try and get the job first and then commit to the rating.
Good luck - hope you come right.

What do you want notes for.
CAA give you the rating now-days for nothing if you are in the right place at the right time.
Seriously.I think I can chirp for a lot of people and safely say AVEX.
Like a Toyota--tried and tested.
They might get very involved, but then for doff okes like me it helps.
Also lots of questions and (right) answers.
Good luck.
Oooooops.
Above reply was supposed to be for ATP notes.
Told you I was not the brightest carrot.
