Unhappy Plane crash near Germiston (RSA)

A light aircraft crashed near the PPC cement factory in Germiston south-east of Johannesburg on Friday morning.

Rand Airport manager Andre Wehmeyer said the plane lost power during a training flight and had to do an emergency landing.

The pilot and the student escaped unhurt. Wehmeyer said the Civil Aviation would investigate the cause of the accident.

Does anyone have any more news on this?

I did my training at Rand and would be interested to know, which aircraft , school and instructor were involved.

Congratulations on walking away from this to those involved as I know there's not a lot of room there for a forced landing.

Thanks
