Arik Air Again!!
News coming out of the DFO's office in Lagos, and independently confirmed by my bankers in London. Indicates, that His Excellency. Sir JMA Johnson and Son "little mike" are in the late stages of a deal to lease two B777-200's ex Malaysian (243 seat and 283 seat) aircraft in march.2015
The aircraft are presently in D check in Germany, and will be completed in February.
Now we all know that The "Great Nation" of Nigeria is just about to commence its general elections. And the vast sums of money required by Sir Johnson to keep is "interests" alive, while trying to balance his domestic books of the Airline and those of Rukson Engineering his other concern in the great Nation of Nigeria, may have him come up short on this one!
Load factors are down all around, as are the availability of pilots wishing to experience the joy's of being "the wings of Nigeria" has caused him to cut back further is domestic fleet and schedule.
Oh not to forget, he also has two firm orders for B747-800"s due in 2016.
Might be another scheme to funnel money up to the UK....
