Arik / Aero Merger?

Hello all
Its been said that Amcon Nigeria the major creditor of both Arik Air and Aero are putting pressure on the airlines' respective managenent teams to complete their mergers later this year.
Can insiders pleasr enlighten us if these rumors are in fact true?
IMO despite the dubious background of Arik Air financing, the resulting merged mega carrier could finally put Nigeria on the airline map to take advantage of economies of scale and enhanced access to finance. Not to mention its a chance to consolidate and better Nigerian aviation.
Any thoughts?

LOS, let's not give up so easily

Let's back Rani's optimism.
The times call for inspired, selfless and dedicated action. If we didn't adopt what some would even call "radical", we would remain in the same spot whilst the Malaysias and even, Indonesias of this world joined Singapore and South Korea, up there.
Worse still, we would betray the un-empowered or at least, less empowered Nigerians who, with better management of air travel, could be pulled up to join the small class who travel by air in this country just now. That's the very process of growing the economy and proving that God made no mistake when he stringed our unique set of black people together, to form one country

flareout BC,
Sadly that is no grounds for anything selfless or dedicated......

Talking Aero Chief Pilot Hightails

Wonders shall never end,Never Say Never they say,Reports reaching us indicate that The Current CP of Aero has jumped ship to a seemingly lowly upstart as perceived by Aero faithfuls. The company is in support of Oil and Gas and operates charter flights. What a wonderful world.Nothing lasts forever. We shall miss you A.O."Know it All".
