Thanks Solid Rust Twotter and Ghost

Thanks for the Woolworth update. Maybe I will check out a Woolworths when I get down to SA.

Sorry about the, “preferred ethnic group”, hiring practices at SAA. Didn't mean to pry.

Meh....

It is what it is. The remains the same. Only the flies have changed.

As for Woolworths, the Presently Disadvantaged Individuals are not taking their discriminatory practices lying down and many no longer shop there. I'm told their bottom line is feeling the pinch to some extent.

Much confusion is caused by the fact that the Woolworths brand in SA is/was(?) owned by Marks & Spencer. For strange hysterical raisins it was never related to Woolworths in the rest of the world other than by name.

Many moons ago Woolworths in the US of A wanted to set up shop in the U of SA ('Union of South Africa' to you kiddos). 'Marks and Sparks' (Marks & Spenser or 'M&S' in modern kiddo lingo) trumped them by setting up in the U of SA under the name 'Woolworths'. (OK Bazaar in the U of SA might have been an US of A's Woolworths 'look alike'?) Woolworths in SA is M&S as known in the UK. Funny old thing but the rest of the world seems to have M&S but SA is stuck with 'Woolworths'!!

About SAA being the most amazing place to work: You haven't worked in many other places in the world, have you?

Actually, quite a few jobs where you get to live off the work of others are 'amazing' in terms of money etc....lots of people just choose not to live like that. Easy decision for many of them really.

To the OP: Good luck, but you'll need more than that I'm afraid.
