They really don't seem to be having a good year so far. After such a strike (saw the prop on the aircraft the day after it happened) its going to be quite expensive to take engine out of plane to send back to manufacturer for a 'sudden-stop' inspection. Guess the plane'll be grounded for quite a while unless they can get a loaner engine...

Ooops they've done it again ! This time no animal but instead a ditch on the side of the runway jumped out at them. Everyone ok that dreaded jumping ditch in lewa downs.
Normally the story after a few too many cold ones, but guess anything is possible when you land caravans at VNE!

They're having a really smashing season this year - one twin otter bounced off the runway, a bird strike on the tail, an impala suicide, and we're back to those deadly tyres again in Lewa I believe. This time instead of just bursting and causing the plane to be seriously inconvenienced, this time the tyre ripped off the rim. Must be the tyres - don't think it could just be a combination of too fast and not straight? Could it?
