Camair-co - Any info?

Gents

I have been asked to look into Camair-co by a potential client. Does anyone have any information on them good, bad or indifferent?

I have already found that they operate 2 x B737 and 1 x B767 to Africa and a scheduled run to CDG 5 times a week but that is all.

Any info greatly received.

As a pilot, bit baffled by your Q.

Potential client ? what, some Russian geezer that wants to buy them ? nervous passenger that wants to check them out before flying ? wimpish pilot that can't ask Q's on his own ? . . . the internet never fails to amaze me .

Who the **** are you , on a PROFESSIONAL PILOTS FORUM FFS ! !
with your first post ?

The client is a rather large company that wishes to use them for business
However they wanted to make sure they were a. reputable and b. safe operators.

As for who i am .. i work for a very large company in the city of london in an advisory capacity, if you have a problem with me being on here please just say without resorting to profanity - for information i was a Navy Air Traffic Controller for 15 years before taking a new career path.

Sorry ! bad day in the office (actually VERY bad ! ) AFAIK the two 737-700's are relatively young & the new CEO is apparently a Dutch chap, so should, I guess be reasonably serious. Thinking of going there earlier this year (as the money ran out. . again) may have to reconsider it in light of yesterdays news

Again sorry for rather brusque response, hope this small info is useful.

Its not a problem, we all have bad days at the office. You should try working with insurance brokers - you would know what beating your head against the wall feels like !!

Kind Regards

The NG's are used for domestic as well as regional sub saharian routes. Everything seems to be running smoothly on those operations.
The only concern is that the 767 is the only plane going back and forth to LFPG and whenever it encounters problems (like the recent worn wheel thing) you can expect some delays. But theyusually try their best though to book you on Air France, otherwise you'll get a 4 star hotel stay and food, the least they could do I guess.

One thing is sure about them !!!

They are very committed people and their team has a challenge to win.

Previously the company was called Cameroon Airlines. It was entirely own by the government. It suffered many challenges and went bankrupt. The Cameroonian authorities though wise to privatize it in 2006 (i don't really know the new terms). Therefore the new management head by the Dutch guy want to demonstrate to authorities that his team is capable of doing good and safe business. He has good experience in handling airlines companies especially in Africa. He said in an interview that he wanted the company to be respected regionally and also internationally. And so far they haven't been any mayor trouble, thing are going smooth .I think he is really motivated.

I hope this is useful.
