7000 hours F/O on Austrian Airlines A320 series (Seniority System)

No accidents or incidents
English Language Proficiency Level 6
Will be based in Burundi at least until 2019, part time contract + STBY tickets required, 4 days on/3 days off roster, max 60 hours per month. Work place must be within 2 hours flight time.

Yes, i did work in an quite professional environment. To keep up my basic flying skills I flew FD OFF / raw data & manual thrust most of the time, as well as visual approaches when ever possible.

How come you are still a FO with 7000 hours on A320! Most pilots with such hrs are Skippers!
Cause in 7000 hrs A320, he never had the chance to prove he could fly airplanes.

Its not unusual to remain F/O, including experience like that of the A320 pilot mentioned, when you're with a legacy carrier. Not necessarily anything to do with skill set. Sad, but reality..

Seniority System
Major quality airlines mostly have the seniority system - ab initio trained pilots only, and only the oldest F/O is next for an upgrading. Currently 17 years waiting time for an upgrading - trend upwards. I flew 11 years there. Great training, great contract, great salary - until they offered to the whole staff a much worse contract or a golden handshake. 110 pilots have left, me too.
The contracts now available are pure slavery, so i decided to follow my wifes career. Her current work place is in Burundi and i decided to fly for fun and part time only.

You have to knock some doors mate. It wouldn't take you long coz you have the experience. All the 3 countries you have mentioned are just an hour away from you. Knock some doors mate.

I ditto - you will HAVE to go there in person.. Just another head's up - like it or not - but it's most likely an ultimate requirement that you MUST bring ALL of your log book documentation - I'm not saying it has to be a traditional hand written one - but most of the aviation authorities in Africa are very stringent about documentation of your flight time. If you could have your books certified/stamped, signed and all that - you're more likely to avoid hassle by the issuing countries (for your licence or validation).
Now, being ex-airline myself, I know it was a God damn pain in the ass to produce this documentation, not having done it for 10 years, just relying on the airline to keep track. But like it or not - you will face problems if you don't accept this fact.
