The best flying job in Africa!!

I was wondering, what do you guys think is the top flying position in Africa.

If you could have one flying job, which one would it be?

Yes I would agree SAA A340 captain, although in terms of enjoyment perhaps it may be bush flying!

A340 captain....glad there is so much ambition around. But I asked for opinions, and must take what I get.

So SRT, are you gonna tell us more?

If I can redo it again, then in terms of avaition today, the guy that sits in the left hand seat of a B777-300ER is where I want to be. This is not meant to be Boeing against Airbus.

If I told you, I'd have to kill you and feed you to the space goats Mr Pirate...

The voices they put in my head told me to say that.

The Maldives are nowhere near Africa.
Driving a Twotter and a C208 in the Mara was a great job.

A job, where you are home every night, would be a good start.

Flying Barons and 404s with Air Kenya. Single pilot IFR and bush flying, making it all work with a minimum of fuss and BS, but that was a long time ago.

A friend of mine flies a Lear 31a, a chopper (think it's a 407 but I'm not sure) AND a Grand Van for the same outfit, in Namibia!

They treat him well, they don't fly too much and he's home most nights, living in paradise. Sod the 340s and 777s, he probably makes more than them and he definately has more fun.

The novelty of the toy we fly wears off after 6 months - its then about quality of the flying and the quality of life.

Most fun - Fire Fighting in a Huey
Best Paid - A340 Capt
Best lifestyle - Anything where you can have a life outside of flying

Best job in Africa - haven't found it yet.

The best was Flying a B707-365C during the 80's and 90's. Since then all down hill.
