To avoid rumours spiralling out of control.
Solenta have refined their heavy maintenance division at HLA and moved resources to upscale at ORT. Lanseria AMO will continue to operate at a smaller scale.
We used 2009 ( slow year due to recession ) as a year to conduct most/all of our heavy maintenance ( A,B,C-checks etc ) whilst flying was slow.
Now in 2010, the advanced planning has all / most of our aircraft in the air ( where they are supposed to be, earning revenue ), hence the requirement for heavy maintenance over the next two years is significantly reduced.
We have become leaner, with better planning for heavy maintenance, hence the requirement to become more efficient, personnel wise.
The company is in very good financial shape, and have learnt to expand and contract quickly, as necessary, as we grow, but at the same time, become more efficient.
Of course, the decisions were not taken lightly, as there are peoples' livelihoods involved, however, we are also responsible for the livelihoods of many hundreds of others, and need to manage, and take the tough decisions as such.
