Flight
Either way, we will all fly. One way or another. Passion is not something that can be extinguished by a single disappointment. Life goes on. And so does reality.
Ill be starting off at KSF. Funds will not be a problem. But when I'm done, all the way from PPL to ATPL, I'm joining you guys in the sky.
We will meet. One day. As a team. United we will stand.

@captainGG I did the psychomotor yesterday at 9a.m. the second last group as there were only 3 groups. The email arrived at 3.15p.m. All I can honestly say is that I have reached this far purely as a result of God's grace and mercy!

Psychomotor
Okay. Congratulations once again to everyone who's made headway in this arduous journey. Remember to prepare for another pilot aptitude test battery after the medicals. It's just as potent as the previous one. It's basic psychoanalysis of one's fitness to fly,so expect the usual hand eye coordination, concentration under monotonous stimuli, speed and accuracy and the works. Again,RELAX. I'll post a relevant link on the same as soon as I'm allowed to.
ION,for candour's sake, could you post your psychomotor scores, whether or not you made the cut or not. Thank you.

Medicals.
Hi guys. I got my invite for medicals at 12:28pm for tomorrow at 8:30am. I did the psychomotor test on Friday the 7th with the 1pm group. Congratulations to all those who've made it and for those who haven't please don't lose hope. If you push hard for something, it will eventually come to you.
I remember that there was a discussion about the flight schools in SA administering an aptitude test before they can accept you from the group that left in January. If any of you are reading this or anyone else has any information about this, please enlighten us on:
1. Whether the test is taken after medicals or orals
2. Where it is taken
3. What the test comprises.

Thank you
Would like to salute one javier hernandez. The world would have been a better place if everyone was like you. You gave us aptitude and psychometric insight and helped me acquire a joystick. Encouraged us and all like a family. One day we will meet in the cockpit. Thank you. Salute

Hello guys,
I fell off the bandwagon at Psychometric. No comms from KQ since then.
Searched for aviation schools and did my homework, and settled for Flight School 43, South Africa.
I applied online on Tuesday evening for the May 12th intake, and got the breakdown of costs for the selected course, a frozen ATPL similar to what ab-initio fellas study for. In approximate, it comes up to about 6M for everything, including accommodation.
After paying the initial deposit of 17,500 Rands via SWIFT, they processed my application in less than 15 minutes and sent me forms to apply for a South Africa VISA. Thats' what I'm chasing now. FYI, the SA embassy is at:
3rd Floor, Roshamaer Place, lenana Road
They can be reached at:
P.O. Box 42441, Nairobi, Kenya
Phone number:+254 20 2827100
Got that from the documents issued by Flight school 43. Copy pasted from a PDF file, hope it doesnt mess up the syntax.
If all goes according to plan, I'll be having the VISA in about a month or so.
See you guys in SA.
NB:
If you're on Ab Initio, it is prudent you get a passport, and if you have one, ensure its at least valid for like, 18 months at least. Got the estimated study period as 18 months, factoring in weather and stuff from 43 flight school.
Good luck, aviators.
And remember, if this is your passion, do something about it. We're all equal. The difference lies in these who take action

I like this forum so much, how I wished i had an idea it existed earlier. Nevertheless, I thank God for bringing me this far with the interview process and currently in the lot taking medical examinations. Just a quick one for the AB initials down there in the south, this aptitude at the oral stage, does it involve joystick again? that was my headache given I only met it for the fist time in my life at the psychomotor stage save for the movies.
