Direct Pilot Fair?KQ?
I beg to disagree mate! And you will find many more fliers lamenting on the subject if provoked. People have been failed on flight tests just for pointing pre flight faults on the plane!
Then again, why keep applicants waiting for 3 years before re-try when most airlines world-wide give you a sentence of only 1 year? And further to that...those that reached the final stage of Flight test have to wait longer than those who failed earlier in the test battery!!????
Moving the Fligh test away from Ririani to the 737 sim was the most sensible move.He is biased and malicious and had powers to fail a candidate before the test ,over riding the Kq invigilator..Now they need to re-think this meaningless waiting period when they are supposed to have shortage of Captains and this obstructs entry to experienced ATPLs.They might also think about Direct entry fast track scheme for experienced ATPLs like other airlines..and not to mix ATPLs with ab-initio/fresh CPL candidates in the testing process.
Rumour has it that KALPA.is toothless. What is required is a federation of kenyan pilots to help with careers and emplyment causes. Why are emplyment permits and license conversion allowed for foreign pilots when many Kenyans are unemployed? In other countries you can not even apply for license conversion unless you have been legaly offered a job prior.
What are your views on this?

I have gone through the interviewing process and its so bad men. Kwanza patience, you must so patient plus the exams are a bit tricky. All the best lakini.

Information Requested
Hi guys!
How did you people reply to the kq email request for minimum requirements?
As for me, I just replied back by filling the table, though not very sure if this is the correct mode. Kindly contribute so that we can all uplift each other in fulfilling our dreams of becoming pilots

You want my thoughts?I think any airline that encounters such financial turbulence will invariably mean belt tightening cost savings and profit contribution schemes.Cost centers that have no short term contribution to airline's financial health will likely suffer.Training is one of them.Long term asset and investment financing such as fleet and routes might have to be restructured to allow a more robust cashflow and financial sustainability.Marketing at Kenya Airways as well as Kenya Tourism in general has to re-strategise to a different sales pitch.Passenger demand has to be stimulated by creating more attractive pricing to fill those seats with bums. I think the biottom line is there might be some furloughs in pilot training especially at ab-initio level.Focus might be more on direct entry candidates who will cost the airline less to grow operations cost effectively. It all depends whether the fleet orders and delivery schedule will be maintained at the current rates(which I doubt) or if they will be slowed down.
What are your thoughts kijana?
