Well, I have $10 million that I am willing to invest in your flight school. Another flying school is something that is sorely needed in Nigeria. There is an acute shortage of skilled personnel in the country and very little to attract young, enthusiastic people to the aviation industry.
There are a couple of proposals currently being progressed and it is possible that we will see a school set up fairly soon. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority is about to enact new regulations that will make it simpler to get a flying school up and running.
Some problems you will face include getting reliable supplies of avgas and it may be that some of the newer diesel engined aircraft could be suitable. There might also be some resistance to establishing a school that teaches more than PPL because some believe that NCAT should be the school for those wanting professional licenses.
Good luck, I think there's an opportunity there as many in the country will agree but, as always in Nigeria, it's the execution of the plan that's the challenge.

I would be very careful dealing with that part of the world. You might think you have done ur homework 300% but still you will be given a true run for ur mullah........try East Africa. Somewhere like Tanzania since Kenya's political future is at best ....."headed for major chaos" . Most Africans head South to SA since there aren't any major or reputable training centers elsewhere. For that now.....send me $25,000 advance fee for me to do ur background check, clear paperwork and give u connections....

Apparently Nigeria, at one point, the most respected country in Africa, has become so corrupt and marred that even the whisper of opening a business in one's country is treated with ridicules and scorn! I really don't blame you guys for your sarcasm! I suppose the country has become just that: a thing of laughter!

i do think we need a good flight school in nigeria, however it would mean having connections with both the ncaa and the government to bring it to fruition, so kudos to you for being more of a solution than part of the problem

Jokes apart I think we need a new flying school that will complement the one we already have where training takes too long. I've met some students from Zaria and that was thier major complaint.

I am amazed at all of these negative comments about nigeria.
I am not nigerian and can safely say that during the 2 years I have been in Nigeria I have found nothing but "trustworthy people".
Why do people automatically discard/belittle Nigeria/Nigerians like that.
I am surprised More nigerians are not annoyed with such comments.
In a country of 140+ mil people It is of no surprise that you will hear about crime,fraud etc.
At least in nigeria the scams are infront of your face. ie easily recognisable so anyone with a little commonsense can steer clear.
This is more than I can say for many western countries where so many financial institutions are scamming people every day by offering loans, credit cards etc that They very well know the client cannot afford in the long term.

He just asked for opinions about the venture and all some people can come up with is to insinuate that he is a scammer?
I believe Nigeria needs more flight schools and I know it will be a challenging endeavor to birth such a dream, but it is not impossible.

Good Idea
I am days away from my CPL test in SA and am amazed at the number of Nigerians currently enrolled in flying schools in South Africa. Starting a flying school has always been my dream and I have been doing some research along those lines.
I believe one of the major problems one would encounter in Nigeria is bureaucracy as the school would be in competition with NCATZ and also avgas as mentioned earlier.
Ghana will be a good option as they will be open to investment and English is the official language.
