Dear Blabla,
its unfortunate that you have to resort to ABUSES to make your statement. If you read my post, I said Fraud was not invented in Nigeria. I did not say Nigerians do not commit crimes.

Again this fool will stop here.

Back to Aviation!

Aye Carumba!

Blablabla,

Sounds like you've had the Arik experience, what on earth were you doing in Lagos? I repeat, what on earth were you doing in Lagos?

Look mister, you are no Big-Ears Prince Charles nor any of his sons, so don't flipping expect some Royal treatment in Africa just because you are Oyinbo! Enjoy the same yamayama we dey chop in Africa, if its not palatable enough for you, get your 'whatever' colour yanch out PRONTO!

Go get your Royal treatment from BA or VS or any of your crappy low-fare/smaller operators. I bet they already told you where to go, that's why you found yourself in Lagos, sorry, we don't want you either! Try Iceland, Greenland or get a job with those scientists measuring 'sea-level' in the antarctic or north pole, that will probably shut your traps by the time you freeze till kingdom come!

Don't come on this forum bashing Naija, didn't your ministers collect money from the Saudis to help them secure BAE Systems contracts, fighter planes, blahblahblah, oops!

The 419 crap you are talking about, i really wonder if you know about all the scams that goes on in the East End of London, open your messed up eyes and look within your precious country and leave Naija alone!

Abeg my people, let's talk better things and leave yamayama alone!

NaijaNaija... You criticize blabla while sitting in London.... Why did you leave? This is not about labelling, I recall the question pose was "what is happening at Arik?" So I would like to ask again, what IS happening at Arik? Are they pulling themselves together?

The reason I am asking is because I was thinking of applying to Arik, my biggest worry is will Arik keep to their side of the deal, eg accomodation, meals and a return air ticket home every two months PAID by Arik... If not, I won't be applying. At the end of the day no matter where the airline is based they must keep their promises made to crew.

workin in arik......from a new fo 733

Hey guys I took a job with Arik a few months ago and as most of you out there I was also very apprehensive about risking coming back home to work. Now I am glad I did no regrets so far they feed us 3 times a day in the guest house pick us up before and after flights. The guesthouse has a pretty good internet connection buy nigerian standards ( in every room), basic cable tv, backup generators run when ever Nepa goes. We have a pool and an ok gym. Other perks are barbeque every sunday most times the chief pilot shows up,one week the chairman even showed up and we all had a good time eating meat and having drinks. All in all guys i cant complain i am an FO on the 733 the pay is fair and the company seems to be trying to organize it self. My experience is doing business in Nigeria brings the Nigerian factor and things will screw up every now and again but ultimately for my sake and others I pray Arik is here to stay. i hope my two sents helps u all figure out some questions......

Hey SA,

You don't need to know where i am, its irrelevant, i am telling blabla to leave Nigeria alone and stop acting like he comes from the Holy Land.

I can't be a driver and history teacher at the same time, you and blabla should go to your local library if you have one or use whatever facility you have, check the list of airlines worldwide who have done what Arik is being accused of, then come back to tell your fellow ignoramus drivers or wannabes.

Don't you lot from SA start, this will just open up a can of nasty worms!

Naija, you've obviously missed my point, I don't want to hear about how good or bad Nigeria is, I know what it's like, I've actually been there before. I'm not trying to open any can of worms, I'm trying to get a reasonable point of view of Arik Air NOT of what Nigeria is like or what Nigerians get accused of. I did not accuse your sacred country of anything. Imagine what a stir it would cause if I used the equivalent of "Oyinbo" on this forum? Do not insult my intelligence, rather give me YOUR opinion of Arik if you have any idea what is happening at the airline or rather keep your rude irrelevant comments to yourself.

Thanks for you comments DR X...

flyguysa

Here goes the SA bigot that i thought you were; having a dig that Naija is a Sacred country. With the recent news coming out of your Sacred country, i am sure you must be extremely proud!

Don't even go there with the Oyinbo line, its a non-starter.

Why I am even replying to you Naija is beyond me.... Obviously, you don't have an opinion on Arik, or you just cannot see past insulting anyone that actually does not share your views... Good luck in defending Nigeria from your cushy spot in London....

Why you replied is your own problem! I am just sick and fed up of the stuff said about Nigeria from that side of Africa and those who say those bad things still come to milk the cash cows in Lagos! I wonder why.

FYI, i am not in London and i do have lots of info about Arik which there's just no point sharing on this forum especially when people like you have a prejudiced opinion.

How many threads do people need to know what's happening at Arik? I tire o!

I think peoples interest in Arik is because they have all these fantastic orders for new aircraft that would need a massive route growth and huge recruitment of staff if they are to operate.

Many believe that there is no intention of Arik to operate the a/c, that they are going to make a killing by trading a/c delivery slots, and that maybe the deals are a way of 'normalising' some monies that might otherwise be a problem.

The current operation is miniscule compared to what is required for the ordered fleet and Arik are going to need every bit of help and co-operation from a large and varied area of the aviation community, so it is surprising to read on here that they have been seriously upsetting so many established and respected recruitment companies.

It is the incredible orders for a/c such as 747-8's and 787's that generates the interest and questions, and I doubt that you getting upset on here will stop this interest Naija Naija

The interest has been well contained to Arik Air and the bait to turn it into a bash Nigeria fun fest has largely been ignored..................and thank goodness for that!!!

Surely Not,

I am just not ready to read comments from the hypocrites from Africa's down-under. They all act like they come from some Holy Land!

I am not upset and won't let those nitwits upset me, they just need to know they can't bash this country and still expect some royal treatment! Its not done!

Here goes!!!

I am back!!!!!
With keen interest i have follwed the comments of my fellow aviators, but cant help noticing that they always veer left of course to corruption and other issues not linking directly to either why they were not paid and such.
It is quite convenient is it not? To sit back at home in comfort and just castigate others and the country they are fighting so hard to give a better image.
Like i have said many times, if you have a problem with Nigeria and Nigerians? DON'T GO THERE!!!!
There are adequate forums for complaints on the polictical and socio-economic status of Nigeria and i suggest those of you who have a contribution visit such sites or better still, take an oath of office and send Mr. Yar'adua packing!
Arik is not a yardstick by which Nigeria's achievements can be measured; Neither can the situation in the Niger-Delta be described as proof of inefficiency.
Against all odds and the world that wont give Nigeria and Nigerians a chance? We still manage to keep up with the trends and turmoils of this revolving earth.
C'MON GUYS!!!! GIVE US A BREAK; WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST!!!
For those of you who will put on their body armour and get battle ready, i say peace unto you!
Save the fight for a better purpose.

Arik Air

Does anyone have any info on the interview process and sim profile for Arik Air.

How is quality of life in Nigeria given all the violence and instability.

Appreciate any input on this airline.

advanced compass tests, psychometric tests, technical test, mathematics, oral interview and sim assesment at OAT gatwick. Then you do the sim assesment in 737-300 sim. Look for shannon approach plate, rwy 24 if i remember.(NDB hold and ILS approach)
