Footsak

I heard one of them, an ex RSA Approach Controller shout out loud...... to his dog, I think? (wife was nearby) "footsak"......
Both of them ran off.

Carrier.

Many English speaking South Africans are grammatically challenged when they speak "Afrikaans"!

Oh! ...and it seems the same with the UK bound boys with a call sign "SPEEDBIRD" are also grammatically challenged as they will say "We are fully ready"...???? Ready? Fully Ready? Explain??

Just a thought!

Heard the "Fully ready" thing before somewhere. Think it may be a Brit/Euro thing along the lines of being ready to enter the active runway and depart immediately with no lengthy wait while completing additional checklist items. Probably not a bad thing to notify ATC with other traffic waiting behind you and a couple of aircraft on the approach, rather than lining up and causing a couple of wave offs while you trundle through the checklist on the runway.

Translation

My apologies skychick. It is often humerous to translate directly into afrikaans. In english "Condition levers to flight and complete the descend and approach checklist" You had to be there!?
