Turbine Endorsements in Africa

Turbine Endorsements in Africa
Hi all,
I am researching before "making the move". What sort of $$ (or insert relative currency here) would a C208 or twotter endorsement cost? Which countries/companies would those of you over there recommend?
If a company decided to employ you, is it the norm that they give you the endo, or are you expected to be knocking on thier door already endorsed?
BTW, anyone know of any AeroCommander (piston or turbine) operators in Africa?
Thanks in advance

Stallie, to get rated (endorsed in aussie-speak)on an acft in any country, you must first hold a license in that country. Ergo, CASA will not issue you a command rating based on training done overseas- it must be done by an "approved training organisation"... or someone that can sign that sticky label.

Sorry I cant give you much idea on where or how much to get the endorsements you are after but I can tell you that you CAN do a rating overseas and then have it put on your Aust lisence..There are conditions and casa will explain them to you but basicly the training must be done to the same standard as required by casa. My advise is to contact the casa office and get the FACTS..

You could contact Fedair (Federal Air) at Virginia, Durban, South Africa. They offer a C208 rating for R20 000 (about 2200USD). The theory is that after the training, they may offer you a job. But at least you will have a rating.
NAC at Lanseria also do BE20 ratings, but I don't know the cost.
Good luck.

You could also speak to Solenta at Lanseria, they operate Caravans up in Africa. Their guys have to pay for their own rating so I'm sure they will be happy to take your money
