Heli Ops at V&A
Does anybody know anything about the new Helicopter Company that operates out of the Waterfront (who are they, and backround) and what is their relationship with Base 4 Helicopters in Cape Town?

Hang on a minute......one can't operate "under someone's licence". This sounds like an illegal operation. An Air Service Licence is issued to a legal entity and from which an AOC (Operating Certificate) is issued subject to certain requirements. One cannot use someone else's licence. I smell a rat!

Peninsula Executive Helicopters (Pty) Ltd Reg Nr 2004/029680/07. Share split as follows:
55% - Management
45% - Matemeku Investments (www.matemeku.com)
This base has been inspected by Pule and Welma from the CAA. It is an extended Base 4 operation and Execheli.com is the brand name we use for Waterfront operations.
Base 4 manages all the flight ops and execheli.com does the marketing.
No rats here my friend, a load of stray cats, yes!
If you have any comments or questions you are free to call us or drop an email. Will be glad to assist.
New website will be launched next week which I am sure you will find informative on exactly what the background is and what we do with our time

So long as the (Pty) Ltd. you quote is the Air Service Licence holder, there is no problem. There is no such thing as an extended base of operation. If Base 4 (in this case) is in fact the licence holder, it can nominate the V&A as a base of operation - yes - and it will have to have total management and operational control and will issue the tickets and raise the invoice to the client. Helicopters being utilized must be included on the Operating Certificate of Base 4 unless the (Pty) Ltd has one of course! The (Pty) Ltd you refer to can conduct the marketing as a consultancy to Base 4 but be careful how the cash flows around this matter or else - in the event of an accident or a claim - you will have fun and games I can assure you. But good luck with the operation!

Jetpark.. If your so intent on raising questions on a suspect operation, why not give the Helibase crowd some of your undivided attention.........
Your intensity as to the rules in regards to these folks would be interesting.

"THE" Oberholzer Bros. Are they well known in the Industry? With a share holder like Neil Petri, I'm sure they will be notorious very soon. I thought Mr. Peti left Base 4 long time ago. Good luck to Base 4!

Wouldnt know any of these folks from a box of chocolates. I have seen situations where some with more money than time, bankroll an operation and become instant experts. Is that what you are refering too UnDies??

Well, I will take the personal comments from you guys with a pinch of salt.
If you think we will only hold 6 months, then you are entitled to your opinion.... Have been operating for 4 months here without a hitch so lets see how far your opinion goes....
And if you have any comments on our shareholders, management, pilots or hangar staff, feel free to pick up the phone and voice your opinion...but...I guess you will hide under your pseunodym and keep on hitting the new kid on the block.
Bring it on. We have nothing to hide.

New kid on the block!! I sincerely hope you referring to the operations at the V&A and not Neil Petri – the shark has been swimming around CT for many years and has a sizeable reputation!!! Nice one there slick!!

shareholders
I'm so sorry if I offended one of the shareholders. I was merely referring to the reputation in the Industry, well know for bad reason! There are other operators in the Cape that is just as noutorious if not more, and they just get on with their bussiness, Big time, noutorious or not.
Don't stress too much boy, just a fact of life. Deal with it in a propper way, conduct bussiness in a propper and honest way, do not contaminate your colleagues minds, unless its already done, and then the reputation might change, who knows? It is hard to change though. Maybe worth a try.

Good Luck down there, Im sure the business has been soured by the "Resident Rogue and the Scrapyard Kings" (not a Rock Band either) , therefore anyone with a start up eats a piece of the ill will.
Done properly there appears to be money to be made. Based on some threads here if its done improperly or illegally, theres obviously more to be made.

Undies,
I was referring to the company - yes. And if you have a problem with the person mentioned - talk to him directly.
Maybe you are a pilot with gazillion hours...maybe you are not....maybe you are a top businessman or maybe you are a pleb...whichever way, fight your own battles with people you dont like.
Jamaligan,
Business is business. We do it the right way. If you may have any doubts on above-board dealings - go to the CAA or even better-go to the Scorpions - They already have a good knowledge of what is going on in the Cape Town heli business
Bert,
Thanks for the good wishes...Will chat to you again on the other site.

Isn't this the same bunch that offered a 412 to the port authority in December 2006 and promised loads of jobs starting 1 January - all of which came to nought. But I am sure there is a plausible explanation for all of that.

I'm sure they are the same people. Heard they will supply a 412 in like less than a weeks time to do the ship service in Dbn. Foreign A/C operating in S.A. with S.A. pilots. May be its a new thing that our CAA accepts, I don't know. And they must have a shop somewhere where you can just buy 412's as you like.
What happend to the deal?

Mother Grundies.
Unbelievable.
New company starts up, and everybody wishes them the dammdest of bad luck....from their unlawful gravity stricken machines to being unairworthy, to the main man of the deep being the biggest and worst un-law abiding, untrustworthy gangster of note.
Talk of OC not being valid to the next thing all his pilots flying with PPL's or at best, Microlight licences.
Come on chaps, lets wish these guys the best of luck in their venture, hope they prosper to having many machines, employing many pilots,(ok, and paying them).
If they had not passed their Annual inspection, I can promise you this, Welma would never have given them one. (Skattie is a definite stickler for paperwork being in place and misses nothing).
Honestly, most times the people moaning about someone is someone who has a mate who has another mate who knows someone that thinks they remember that they forgot to wash their laundry.
Good luck to these guys.
Goffel by the sea.

Goffel, I guess you have`nt dealt with the likes of this crowd - Promise the world but delivery never takes place - I`m sure if this thread carries on a little longer a whole lot more of the so called "dirty laundry" will come out.
Would like to find out a little more about:
