I understand from this thread that you can get your license renewed, but cannot use it in Sa unless you do a proficiency check with a SA DE.I just wanted to know if one could use the renewed license to write the ATP examinations without the SA DE proficiency check.I hold the SA CPL/IR.

Hello chaps,

FYI - just renewed my SA Licence, and did not have a problem.

Being Expat, I had to produce 1 or 2 more forms but all in all it went through in a jiffy.

Docs supplied were,

Copy of JAR testing form
Copy of Comapany OPC/LPC certificate
Origional South African Licence renewal application, signed by the JAR TRE
Origional South African IF Renewal Test Form, completed by the JAR TRE
6 Month Logbook Summary, certified by a South African Gr2
South African Medical

All done!

SN
