All good points Shenzirubani and fair enough you experienced it all first hand. You are right about the high turnover of pilots in Air Excel and you are right about everyone fixing the numbers to lenghten the service intervals not only in EA but all over the place. Seems you did it for Mike.

The subject matter of this post has shifted and perhaps its time to open a new thread for ex Excel pilots.

Well, yes Zed, I did it for Mike.
You are right, this thread has shifted from it's main subject: a 206 had an engine failure, pilot was succesful to land and save her life. Great job! I hope she's feeling ok.

this one is for sgt.pepeh...its nice to see your positive attitute towards engines..apparently i would like to tell you that this particular company has had an engine failure on a pt6---probably the most safest engine around...(would the real helldog please stand up)

Question

Hi guys,

Yep, the most important is she managed it well...& went out alive without a scratch! But now, she should go back flying as soon as possible...not to stick on this shock!
Now i would suggest, until we don't get a full report, to standby & see what really happened!
Regarding the Air Excel boss...well...Shenzi said it all...but remember that some pilots (still flying) & flew for him for a long time...

Anyway...wish you all good & safe flying!

See u on air chan...

What I have found over the years is that every operator has their downfalls.

If you want an honest opinion from me here it is. Yes some of the things said are true. Mike is a difficult dude to work for, but that is because he is so meticulous(buggered if I know how to spell that) he expects so much from his pilots, there is even special ways to press radio buttons etc. Belive me you do not even want to look at a plane the wrong way. I just did as asked and didnt get shouted a more than three or four times in 13 months, I can handle that.

Now as for stretching hours...Never had to do it, not even once in 1100 hours at the company, always got extensions before hours ran out and maint always on time. Did he push to get planes out quick? Yes he did but that is only putting pressure on the ginger beers to get the job done quicker, not telling them to cut corners.

Anyway the point I am making here is that some things posted here MAY be true some MAY be false. Also the experience of one does not mean all experience the same thing.

Thats all now.

Cheers percy, congrats on the bub on the way and love to the missus.
