Question Contacts in Accra, Ghana

Morning all,

Ol Gunnzzz is seriously thinking of moving on ...

He flies out to Accra tomorrow to meet up with possible new contacts and contracts.

Do anybody know of relative cheap accomodation close to the airport for a year lease. One / two rooms is fine or a cheapo house is also fine ...

Any tips ?

Cheers and all the best,

No More Gunsss

Guns,

Not sure what sort of "Test" you would watch whereby you guys would "whip the A$*Es" of the Irish. Obviously not Rugby then.

Planning Jan 21st.

While U in Accra check out Champs Pub - great vibe on the we. Fri is Karaoke, Sat brilliant local band, Sun film night, Thurs quiz night and the rest of the time you can drink beer (Ghana Breweries owned by SAB). Also Metro movies at the International conference centre and if you do a bit of scouting around you will find a Nandos, Steers and Woolies believe it or not! Mbolo is the place to do the shopping although there is another decent supermarket near the airport. O Reillys pub is a popular local haunt.

La Palm hotel has an awesome swimming pool - monthly membership I seem to remember costs around 20 USD or you can pay the daily fee. Busy Internet ( near Champs) has the best high speed internet in town and is cheap. They must have around 100 TFT terminals!

Tx a lot Wheels up

I have seen 2 Nando's and a Spur and it was fantastic to see Woolies and Shoprite

A mate took me out on evening to Aqarius Rest - very nice - till the Nigerian and Liberian Night Fighters took over ... apparently we sat at the "wrong side of the bar" :o

We then went to "Jokers" .. sjees what a place - feels like a central London geek

Great place - but damn expensive !

Tx also for the PM's all.

Flying to ACC again just now via LGW

The lines are very bad there but will try the Internet Cafe .. if you do not hear from me ... I am in ACC - my leave is cancelled - work comes first and have a great Xmass and fabulous 2005 ..

Cheers

House 4 Guns

As you have been to the Aquarius you should have asked the Big Russian (sorry o - Ukrainian) Mama.

She has a 2 - 3 b/r house for rent about 5 kms off the airport (Spintex Road) at a very reasonable rate. Depending on you beer drinking skills and sweet mouth you should be able to get it between $ 300 - 500 per month.

Rents in Accra are usually payable 1 yr. in advance.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas

O.

Hi all from a very bad internet connected ACC

It is really an uphill strugle to get conencted here.

Can not wait to get a room / house and broad band as they advertised here for relative cheap.

Oneeyed - yes I know the mamma - I will ask her next time (maybe tonight). The nice bar maid has sadly left and a young (hughe) mama is in her place

I will check her out tonight as I see away from the airport the traffic is a massive problem.

TimS will send you a PM just now. I honestly do not know how long as I have a few possibilities and one contract to date.

Lo Joe .. sorry mate I am not into reall flying here. I am an old boring desk man these days for airlines

But I will get into the scene soon and find out for you.

Where do the oke's booze here ?

Merry Christmas and a glorious New Year to all of you !

Cheers and best regards,

No Gunsss
