West African DC9 Jobs ?

Any idea who might be advertising for 6 X DC-9-30 crews for an unnamed airline, in an unnamed country, for rather low wages ? Saw the jobs posted on planejobs.com but no location info. Thanks.

May be STA, based Bamako, Mali. However, i do believe that there are some DC 9s of other companies operating out of Accra as well.

Mmmmm.....

Low pay, cruddy conditions and in an unnamed African country but conforming to SACAA regs?

Sounds like a much loved contract airline based at JHB Intl.

Wow...I take it this would be a bad job, huh ? So now, the question becomes: will they have any trouble filling these positions ? And who are Marsh & Dolbert, the company advertising the jobs ?

Fresh of the press......

Nice thing working internationally! I have heard that an operator in Equatorial Guinea (EG) is setting up an Domestic/International carrier and that there are sufficient funding and support behind this effort.

I believe that a DC9 was recently sourced from Lanceria, so that might explain the SAA Regs involvement. Also, because there are so CAA in EG, it was most probably a good way to go!

In anyway, it might just be another rumour.... some other facts to show some light on this ONE?

Chopper Jog,

Thanks for the info. I did a brief Google of Equatorial Guinea and can't say it looks all that appetizing as a place to live and work. Would you ( or any other knowledgeable people ) care to comment on this country and the prospect of such a job as the one in question ? It's hard to be exact without a lot more details, but I'd appreciate your opinion.

I don't think STA based in Mali is looking for some pilot now, they will be out of the bisiness real soon ... not a good idea to go there... believe me!!!

LINA CONGO out of Brazzaville has very recently put a DC9-30 on line. The crew is South African. Small operation right now, but they may have expansion plans requiring more crews.
