Trapped in Baghdad
Due to the rapidly deteriorating security situation in Iraq, all Iraqi airspace has been closed to civilian traffic until further notice. This happened so quickly that a Naturelink Beech 1900 and its crew are now trapped in Baghdad. Another Naturelink aircraft was diverted back to Jordan and landed with only fumes in the tanks.
Time to pull out guys!

"trapped in Baghdad"
I doubt if they are trapped. If they are true South African Pilots: 1. They have by now found enough tank parts to make a Braai.
2. Have traded aircraft parts for Beer.
3. Confiscated a Satellite TV
4. Have figured out a way to make Camel Boerwoers.
5. I almost posted Number 5, but I keep forgetting how sensitive this forum is as to descriptors regarding the other sex.

Bert...
You forgot the biltong and dry wors. Never travel without it. If it's quality stuff they could swap it for a Kevlar flak jacket to sit on when they make their midnight runfor freedom......

Imho real 'oaks' would:
- Have 'slabs' of Castle & Amstel chilling within some aircraft hold ( i.e. high above the local airfield )
- Beneath the refrigeration aircraft, they'd have Braai’s brimming over with some locally produced Wors
- Have organised most of the ground based blokes into a full-on mission to locate, lure and secure some 'Punda' ( local or otherwise ) !

Alive and well
After numerous phone calls and dead ends we managed to escape with all our limbs and A/C in tact.
Just to reinforce our fellow South Africans trust,
The braai was ready and waiting, we thought wed leave it for our second night though, since this was a hurry up and wait situation. Even though the airport was closed for departures and arrivals, the duty free kindly stayed open, they heard there were some South Africans lurking about in dire need of some beverages... Luckily our South African base manager already procured a sattelite tv, the beer and meat were on order for saturday...
Fly safe
