Hi,

all I know is that their base is Casablanca and that they are facing a lot of opposition from the Royal Air Maroc pilots. I've only been to Morocco a few times but I don't think it would be a hardship posting...

Cheers

I understood it's a low cost division of Air Maroc? I couldn't find any information on the net.
Maybe some royal maroc pilot on the net?

Canileb,

What do you mean by "a lot of opposition from RAM pilots", do you think that people who take up these contracting jobs will be given a hard time? It's just that I have a young family and would like to apply with my eye's wide open. I also don't want to tread on toes of fellow aviators.

Any info would be great from anyone who knows.

Regards

Hi,

all I know is that one of the reasons the RAM pilots went on strike was that they were opposed to having a low-cost subsidiary compete against the main RAM routes. I do not know what this means to new Atlas Blue pilots though. Try to see if any are on pprune?

Cheers and good luck!

I've heard they are not operating from same base as RAM,and also not on the same route.

Check this http://www.lobservateur.ma/entreprises.asp

It will have planes and staff from RAM,at the beggining.

Does anybody have any information on the Atlas Blue contract? I hear the $$ aren't great, but living in Morocco for six months wouldn't be all bad. I enjoyed the food on a visit some years ago.

Thanks for your help guys.

Thanks for moving the post moderator. I didn't realize that there was another going.

I read after doing a search that the RAM piotstook industrial action against importing foreign pilots; half a dozen were fired as a result, so there is probably some unrest and aggro toward foreign pilots.

Talking Atlas Blue

Hi there,
There are a number of companies supporting Atlas Blue including Parc, however the closest one to the management team there is Sigmar Aviation, www.sigmaraviation.com.

They may be worth a shout!

4HP - If my recollection serves me right, the post that reflected the requirements for Solenta Aviation and the fact that they were hiring ATR crew, was deleted - it was seen as "advertising". I view the second post on this topic in the same light...

ATRDriver,

Seems like Canileb removed the ad himself. Well, I suppose that "if" the jobs are still there it might have an effect on applicants but I suspect that the ones that wanted to apply did so many moons ago...a bit trivial 6 months down the line...

But, then again, there's standards to uphold...what's good for Mbeki must be good for Mugabe...or vice versa.
