They are on BB2. Must have missed the turn down to U and thought they could skip straight onto Z. They have ended up in the Regional Jet parking apron with a taxiway wingspan max of 36m. Tad shy of the 65m needed to get down there.

The is the expat risk. With 2 sets of crew onboard all in the cockpit then all are liable for anything that goes wrong. In this case a taxiing down a Max 36 wingspan taxiway should have been picked up by someone... Clearly it wasn't.
short flights long nights
Note to those scrambling to join Qatar…in the Middle East you are only as good as your last sector. ( Even if on that sector you are in the back seats.)

Looking at Google Earth, the taxiway doesn't seem to have any paintwork listing the wingspan limits - These seem to appear (very usefully!) in some places (for an example you could check EHAM ramp here). Simple, cheap, effective...

were only two in the cockpit. Atlanta Chicago is not a long flight. I don't know if was any dead heading crew. Even if was any why to fire them. It's not reasonable. I am not sure the article is correct

QR Fires All 4 Pilots!
ORD is a jungle, even for this former United pilot!
l have a bad feeling these poor bastards flew all the way from Doha to Atlanta and then Chicago?
Talking about being so fatigued, you turn into a taxiway not authorized for your aircraft and perhaps with some help from a sleepy Ground Controller you find that damn light pole that jumps in front of you out of nowhere and wrap your wing around it!
l have no idea what happened nor l want blame anyone without knowing al the facts. But for QR to fire these guys on the spot, without any investigation is petty ****ty, l think.
l trained a couple of QR 777 crews when they first got them and a little familiar with their “off with their heads” culture. Those of you on Linkdin may want to have some fun finding my post about this, and the beatings l received from non pilots and obviously QR shills for suggesting fatigue may have been a part in this unfortunate incident.
lf you’ve never fallen asleep inside the Marker, hand flying a 707, don’t bother! 😎
