Nice discovery this morning on the Dynon website; CASA has released a discussion paper on the possibility of approved fitment of "low cost" ADSB equipment in VFR aircraft.
For example a Dynon Skyview transponder and their A$700 GPS 2020 would be acceptable on VFR aircraft.
My quick read indicates this paper is a breath of fresh air. Let us hope that CASAs intentions are pure and no special "Australian requirements" void this common sense approach.
