Not necessarily - going via Singpaore is often more attractive than via Dubai for business or holiday reasons
but If Qantas are offering a more expensive product on exactly the same route as Emirates then only poeple with airmiles will fly them. Routing via Singapore is a different offer. Lets face it Dubai is a dump unless you have business there
