Qantas LHR via SIN

https://www.qantasnewsroom.com.au/me...d-partnership/

QF1 re-routing via SIN and MEL gets an A380 to SIN.

KEY CHANGES
The key change will see the airlines better leveraging each other’s networks, by providing three options to Europe – via Dubai, Perth and Singapore[2].
Qantas will re-route its daily Sydney-London A380 service via Singapore rather than Dubai and upgrade its existing daily Melbourne-Singapore flight from an A330 to an A380. As previously announced, Qantas’ existing Melbourne-Dubai-London service will be replaced with its Dreamliner service flying Melbourne-Perth-London.
A detailed summary of the changes, including effective dates, is provided at the end of this release.
Customer demand for flights between Australia and Dubai will remain well served by the 77 weekly services that Emirates operates from five cities – Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney – including seven daily A380 flights. Qantas passengers will still be able to fly on Emirates to Dubai, where they have access to over 60 onward connections on Emirates to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

How about bringing QF81/82 (SYD-SIN) through ADL like it used to - would give SA pax to LHR a better deal too !

With the A380s to SIN replacing A330 services we've certainly released enough A330 capacity to send them ADL- SIN daily.

They, along with Brisbane pax, will be/are expected to go via Perth for the marathon PER-LHR. `

Lol. No argument there! Where do you have in mind? Seoul would have to be a 'negative bid' at the moment!

Don't be so quick to judge! The "Pet Shop" Korean BBQ over a bucket of hot coals & cold beer was a treat to behold.

Couldn't BNE pax go via SIN too, or do the schedule times not match up?

Probably can, but there won't be too many seats left from Singapore to London after the Sydney and Melbourne 380's merge into one in Singapore.

If you don't like EK for whatever reason QR or CX out of ADL to LHR starting to look attractive as One-world partners in QF FF points and status credit alternative.

Logically under the new deal QF1/2 SIN - LHR with feed from/to SYD and MEL now going to be chockers so should improve the bottom line.

And passengers like both the Asian stopover and the A380 product, so despite the MEL/PER/LHR flight, this may be once again a very popular option.

I can see why they've gone back to Singapore - if you have to change planes/stop in Dubai you go Emirates all the way for sure. I paid 75% of the Quantas cost on Emirates MEL-LHR Business earlier this year and the service is far better
