Going back a touch regards what instructors get paid. recently returned from USA where i was charged $35 hour for ground instruction (which lasted 2 hours for bi-annual check and same for 1 1/2 hours flying i.e. total of $122.50.(£80)plus tax).
Two of us were done at same time and charged the same.
How much of this does the instructor get?
Any US instructors wish to enlighten me.
The average UK instructor probably would get £15-25 for the flying and nothing for ground instruction ( might get a tenner for turning up).
Also some of the Police flying i have seen at my former home airfield would leave much to be desired as good example.
I having personally witnessed a tail strike as a machine was being demoed at a family day.
