The pay is good although you work extremely hard for it. For the past three month, I have flown maximum hours every month. My average 6 day block is three earlies of about 04.30z followed by 3 days of linate - nice all being four sector days. 6 on 3off like other people say turn into 7 on 2 off including the flexi.

Due to pilots getting disruption pay if their rosters are not 95% stable at major bases, we find ourselves with blocks of standby, disruption pay does not apply. In my last block of standby, I ent into disgresssion twice and did 58 duty hours due to delays. Not ATC delays but no crew to op flights. Looking forward to the Airbus arriving, I cannot think of a word to describe what it will be like.

Anyway had better go now to get some rest as I only have 97 flight hours this month with four standby days, probably due 100 hrs this month. At this ate I will have the Winter months off.

Hours aside, the flying is great, people good fun, organisation of everything could be better.

The choice is yours? It's not too bad, all airlines have their probs.
