I read about a TWA flight from New York JFK to Lisbon where a Flight Attendant was serving the meals and she woke a passenger up to see if he wanted one:
FA - "Would you like a meal"
Passenger - "No, I don't feel like one"
FA - "Sorry, mind reading isn't in my job discription"
