Interesting. This contract has been coming through on my email for the last few weeks. I wonder if they're fishing for interest before approaching Ethiopian with a sales pitch of "look how many pilots we can offer you?"
Hi Tricia,
Well, I'm pretty sure that you will be put off by this...don't shoot the messenger please
For FO's already rated and with min. 500 hours on B777/787 :
Basic salary : USD 3750
Overtime : USD 1/80 per hour
Bonus : 10% of accumulated basic salary, paid every 6 months
Perdiem : USD 60 per day of work
Housing : USD 1200 per month
Flights home and back to Addis : Confirmed Economyclass or Jumpseat
Here comes what will REALLY put you off, I reckon
Although a FO shows up, rated and with at least 500 hours of experience, ET STILL wants you to pay a 'Training bond of USD 8000. USD 4000 upfront, and the remaining 4000 deducted from your salary over 3 years. At the end of that 3 year contract, they will pay you the 8000 back.
Captains arriving rated and experienced, are (of course) not asked to pay for something, that they are giving to Ethiopian for free. But it seems like FO's are.
Again..dont shoot the messenger.. I thought that this was a joke / Mistake, but ET has confirmed 3 times to me now, that these are the conditions
Maybe ask Flightglobal, if they are aware of this little detail.....
